I am LOVING the colored pencil class!! Great job, love the projects and all the techniques! Especially the adjacent stuff like using clear gesso and workable fixative. You mentioned varnishing, that would be my only suggestion to add. WONDERFUL class!

I like the Livestream ideas. I love everything Tea! Thank you for showing some of the tea stash. Those are all my favorites. If you haven't had Chai Tea yet, give it a try. I had a friend introduce me to Chai Tea in 2000. It is so good. It has been so rainy here in PA. We are at 50 degrees right now on Saturday with rain. All of our leaves are out and full grown. Things have been blooming since the beginning of March. People are mowing lawns. I do hope you and everyone who goes to France has the time of their lives. Stay safe!

Thanks for the reminder about the colored pencil class, I almost forgot. I just ordered it! I thought it wasn’t for me, but love the mixed media aspect of the class. Plus some of the exercises can be done after work. I want to do more art after work. Even if it’s just for ten or fifteen minutes. I live in northern Minnesota and i understand about spring and summer. I have a large flower garden and my husband does the vegetable garden. Went to my local greenhouse just to look and ended up buying a few things. Some colors of my favorite wave petunias were already sold out or getting low, I felt forced to buy, lol. Everyone is getting spring fever. Luckily I have a small green house I can store them in. I like the live class of qor and lilacs would be awesome! Have a great time in France! Happy Mother’s Day!

Great SatChat, Happy Mother’s Day. Please ignore the salty patriotic comments. Firstly, I have seen almost every brand with long live stream tutorials in here, secondly, I’m from east who lives in states, so I paint with DaVinci most of the time, if I’ll head back home, I’ll paint with Paul Reubens or Holbein or Camel, when the paints don’t hinder your ability to paint and are lightfast, you don’t necessarily need to pay international shipping. Finally, I prefer channels that show tons of tutorials not just product from around the globe.. I love it in here ❤ And yes to all live streams 🎉

Hey I discovered something, with your help! I commented a while back I was disappointed Ohuhu discontinued their really cheap but good cellulose watercolor blocks -- and you mentioned someone else probably made them. Today I discovered while cleaning up the paper stash that it looks exactly like the Bienfang 140lb loose sheets I'd bought (although the Ohuhu was thicker, it was the same color, texture and feel.) Only problem is, they may have changed the Bienfang, because I ordered some 90lb and it was nothing like what I had before. Almost no texture. Which may explain why Ohuhu didn't continue selling it!! I've just written Speedball (who makes Bienfang) and Blick to see if I can get any more info. You inspired my detective work! 🤔

Love all your Livestream ideas. If anyone is thinking of doing the colour pencil class my advice is do it. It has been so wonderful learning how to use my pencils and I am very happy with the artwork I have produced. Thanks Lindsay for all of your hard work and enjoy your art retreat. Have a great time in France! I got the colored pencil class for Mother’s Day! P.S. every country is different, so I learned from past air travel not to pack liquid filled pens, full tubes of paint or metal tins in my luggage. Air pressure can affect liquids and make them leak. Security thought my paint tin looked suspicious. They brought back my checked luggage to unpack and show them. Ended up packing the paint tin open in a zip bag with the brushes. I traveled with plastic pallets on international flights after that.

I agree that Qor does not do low-tinting colors very well (neither does Daniel Smith). M. Graham and DaVinci do much better with Cobalt Violet, Ultramarine Pink, Viridian, etc. I personally LOVE Cobalt Green Deep -- so good for florals! Most Underrated Pigment Ever! But I much prefer Schmincke's formula. The Qor is weak, and it traveled in my palette. As far as art supply patriotism -- watercolor is made all over the world, and it just makes more financial sense to buy from one's own region!

Boycott??? Just bought a 24 pan set of Paul Ruban’s 4th generation paints : swatching them out still. So far I like the paints. Love the palette! I am not feeling guilty anymore when I go off a no buy. Life is too short to deny myself. And I can always give it away and make someone else happy.
