I always tell my husband that I’m proud of him for being such an amazing provider and for planning for our future. And I tell him how hot he is in his uniform (and out of it) because he really is. He wasn’t raised in a family that gave compliments, and he has had really low self-esteem his whole life. I think I’ve helped him see that he’s a really good guy.

Someone that I’m talking to, I told him… I appreciate you for keeping your word. A man who keeps his word has value to what he says… I respect that. However, we don’t have a title or anything… And I have so many questions… i’m a blind mother of three, and i’m trying to make better decisions in my life… But I really want to be loved and someone’s wife One day… It means so much. Well, I thought I would share that.

I'm in a long distance relationship and what I do to make my bf stay connected with me is to always compliment him. When he tells me about what happened at work, I always tell him "Oh that's great babe, you are so hardworking and I am so proud of you!" When he fixed the wifi and his laptop, I simply told him " you're an awesome technician, good job!" And when he's wearing the stuff that makes him look so good, I always let him know that he looks good " babe you honestly look so hot, that shirt and pants looks good on you, bring that with you when we meet again ok?, I'd love to see you wear that when I'm around" I'm sharing all these things to inspire those who are in LDR, we got this guys! Ps. Don't forget to tell him how much you appreciate all his efforts to see you! ❤️

Mathew is right in everything he said. BUT - if we use his advice to reel a person in, and then return to being our normal, thoughtless selves, it all backfires. Most relationships get old quickly because we stop being considerate fairly early on, and the partner becomes just a habit. All things we truly value require effort to sustain...

you're right.sometimes these tricks require you to always be on guard, u know? its like you cant do nothing without thinking first....but wat i believe is that if one keeps practicing them, eventually it will become only natural and easy to them....just like learning to go to the gym every morning, u know

I think that if we can practice this in the initial dating phase it can prepare us to keep doing it in the long run along with doing inner work on both sides. Also to make sure the relationship isn’t focused on the wrong things like money and sex. I think it could go a long way

I truly hate cleaning dishes, give me laundry. My husband comes home from work and cleans the dishes, even the hidden ones in our kids room. I see that ALL the dishes & pots are all clean. I walk over to him with open arms and give him a long hug & kiss & tell him thanks babe for doing the dishes I love you. Now he does them and tells me he knows I don't like doing them. My man is a single dad, has been struggling with the idea that his kids don't have a positive female role model. We haven't met each other's kids yet, partly because of this. I validated him and told him that he alone is enough for his kids, and that he already has what they need. He later told me how empowering that statement was and how much it really meant to him.

Lionhearted Me Seriously? A man does that and, since it's not what men "normally" do, he deserves to be wowed and be put on a pedestal everyday and reminded of how great he is??? The millions of single mums out there who do that and much more are treated like... what? What recognition do they get from society? They're only "recognised" when something goes wrong and one of the kids commits a crime, then the single mum is all to blame! I find it sad that women are much worse off in terms of social recognition of all their abilities, skills and strengths because their peers (i.e. other women) contribute to lower their appreciation. No offense, but when you say it's amazing that a man gets to wonderfully raise his children on his own and you put him on a pedestal you are implicitly admitting that women have also done the same for centuries but that's different/"normal". I'd rather have people saying "it's amazing how someone gets to raise a child/children on their own and do a great job. These PEOPLE should get more recognition and support from society as a whole"!

A few days ago I was telling my guy how much I appreciation his his extra emotional support these last few months with my dad being in very poor health. He has literally been at death's door but very slowly turning a corner. My guy asks for updates on how my dad is doing and mom is through this. He says he prays for my dad to get better to come home. We talk about our close connection to our families and not take them for granted. Right now, we are LDR, and we have to postpone meet up until I feel like dad is in a lot more stable health at home before visiting him. I wouldn't handle this as well without his support.

Some time ago, I was dating a very sweet guy who was an introvert and I usually complimented him after each date, just picking out something special that happened that only relates to "us". For instance, the way he looked into my eyes so passionately, the idea behimd his tattoo, his perspective of something he mentioned. When he realises that I actually remember the tiny details in a conversation he appreciates it very highly and feels special. So my advice is to be attentive to what he says to you and compliment him later (after the date) on something specific that might mean a lot to him. During the date I liked to tease him or say things like you're smile is breath-taking, love the way you hug me etc. & it kind of sparks some connection up 😊

This stuff really works. This takes me back to when I was running for a bus one day and when I got on the bus driver said he admired how I could squeeze through to slim poles and he said that he could never do that and I instantly said to him well I certainly hope not with all that wonderful male brawn that you have and I'll never forget his face he just had the biggest grin and he almost slid down his seat. Then he continued to drive the bus with his chest out. It was so obvious that it worked that I was stunned and I remember it to this day.

My man is simply the best person in my life. He's dark and rough on first notice to most but he's gentle and kind to me, and always has been. He gets me... We both have learned so much together. I have been all over the world. He has traveled some but has basically lived in one area his entire life. I'm 5'3" he's 6'2" ... He is a self proclaimed realist I'm a pragmatic dreamer. We have both had success and failures but he's never taken his failures out on me and I haven't taken mine out on him. Instead, we both are there for each other in the pain of failure and the joy of success. He's a wonderful provider and I'm a really great home maker. Together we have shown each other that it is us against the world. My loyalty is to him. I say forever he says for the foreseeable future. Words mean more when actions follow and are congruent with the words. He's so good at showing me he loves me. I do my darndest to do the same. He's a keeper. I'm not being who I'm not with him. I want him to be who he is with me. This isn't a pretend relationship. We fall short but we are honest about it and forgiving of each other. He's big and protective. I'm small and cuddly. Together we keep each other happy Because we Want to. We have never yelled and screamed at each other in an all out battle to win...because our goals line up together. I love him. I love him in a deeply rooted trusting respectful way. And because of this I would do anything for him that is within my power. He's a force to be reckoned with and that is the sexiest thing about him. This isn't luck it's life.

A sincere and honest compliment. I gave a man whom I have been attracted to for the longest and not ever expected him to reciprocate. "You are the first man I have kissed in 4 years" In case, you all are wondering why the long wait. I was supposed to get engaged. The week of the engagement, my ex called it off. He said "he still wanted to have a good time" I figured he had met someone else. I decided, I should meet someone else. My heart wasn't it. I didn't want a rebound person, it wasn't going to fill the emptiness and the hurt. Then shortly after, my ex started calling. I didn't pick up the phone. Finally, after months, I answered the phone. Now, I have moved on. Yes, it took me a long time. I came to realize. He was not ever going to make a commitment.

I have had a long-distance relationship with an orthopedic surgeon. As I suffer from various orthopedic medical issues, I told him, that I prefer him to examine me and do possible surgeries, because I rely to his skills and experience much more than everyone else. However, as he is nearly 60 years old, and has the highest rank in the hospital he works currently, he is for sure very experienced. So my compliment is credible and pleased him a lot.

How a man can vet / decide between his many prospects .... 1. What do find special in me? 2. What do you find special about me? 3. What sort of things do I do so right that far too many men get so wrong? 4. What do I do so amazingly that makes me stand out from the crowd of all other men, to some, or even to a praiseworthy degree? 5. What do I do so constantly that makes it hard for you to stay unhappy for longer than you may have done historically too often, or much too often, before? 6. What do I do so consistently that makes you so determined to get back into your depth, and then to stay there, well under your own steam, so much better than mostly ever before? 7. What do I do so consistently that inspires you believe in yourself even when you're feeling pretty much under the weather, maybe, perhaps, with all lights at the ends of all tunnels seemingly extinguished in some of your worst fears of all of your worst fears? 8. What do I do so consistently that makes you realise what talents you have / have always had, that make you quite so indispensable, or quite so flippin' gorgeous, to me? 9. What do I do so consistently that makes you realise how foolish it could be for you to do ANYTHING that could entail even a small risk losing me? 10. What do I do so consistently that makes you want to cry, cry, cry so many tears of relief or joy because somehow, even just by loving me in silence, I've made you feel that virtually all of your past days of misery or horror have now been banished from your list of nightmarish terrors, most hopefully, for now and forever more? ~ now, please darling, touch as much wood as you need to !! Then if her answers then concur, by and large, most wonderfully with yours, i.e. those strengths of yours ~.those strengths that make you so outstandingly decent in your own eyes, then she's not wanting you for any weird reasons, and so then you should start moving forward step, by step, in the direction of the two of you getting married on a day that's been engineered by her steering you, a day to be amazingly perfect for the both of you, gifting to you both the foundation of your joint everlasting story of ever more so fabulously requited love / stupendous ongoing banquet of loving !! "We can only learn to love by loving." ~ Iris Murdock !! "... but we must never forget that love starts with fear, then reverence, then respect." ~ Prof Martin J A Camden !!

Matt, you are the best!. It is such a pleasure to watch you. You have this amazing energy that is lovely to watch. And you are so great at explaining things clearly. I loved this video and others I have watch. Now for the nay sayers in the comments, there is research proving that these strategies work. Nothing works like appreciation. Ask yourself, what should someone do for you to feel loved? Appreciation is a the top of the list together with being listened to with full attention.

I'm dating a greenhouse tech from WSU. My profile on Match reads that I'm a "science geek" so I absolutely love that he's into plants as much as I am. He told me where to get great plants for lowest prices. "REALLY?! Great tip-THANK YOU!!!! You're my new best friend-poor you! Haha!" His response? "That was kind of the idea.😘" If they give you a great tip or idea, remember to be enthusiastic about it-because it means they're into you hands down.

For me it's always important to give appreciation. But I've realized thanks to your videos that I frequently lay focus on "shallow" things, like his body. I shall take that into consideration and begin to give more appreciation for the things that really matters. Like how he always try to make me feel better whenever I'm stressed or a bit low, how good he listens to me and so on. He actually said to me that he doesn't like that I've complimented him by his looks as often as I've did. Thanks Mathew and love from Sweden!

I've told my boyfriend he's the best thing that's ever happened to me. I also woke up one morning and made him listen to a song that illustrates a girl being saved by her man. He listened to the whole thing, his eyes got all soft and he looked at me and was like, "do you really feel that way?" and I was like "yeah." his whole demeanor has changed in like the last week...I was not expecting that. but good to know it's not a coincidence ^_^

Hearing from a male perspective and the clear examples you gave in this video, super helpful and applicable to me because we are only able to see each other once sometimes twice a week due to our work schedule so we text all the time.
