Hi Matthew. I have to share something with you that is very cool. When my boyfriend andI first got together he told me that he did not like public displays of affection of any type. I was shocked because I had never experienced this before. Apparently, even something as simple as holding hands was off limits. I was disappointed and was unsure how to proceed. I decided to not make a big blow up deal out of it and decided to be respectful of his boundaries. Guess what happened.....yes it did.....he all of a sudden started holding my hand and reaching for me and hugging and kissing me. He did this naturally on his own not even realizing where he was. he saw me and was with me and he was happy. I will also add it did not take him long to start to do this. I'm big on acts of service. When I adore him, I do little things to make him comfortable. I pick up his plates and give him more food or I make the special desserts he mentioned randomly that he likes. I start to dress in his favorite colors if they look good me (if they don't then I wear jewelry of his favorite color). I also laugh at all his jokes and I give a huge smile and giggle (plus sometimes an eyeroll) whenever he is a good ball. I remember what he likes and check out shows or music he is into.

Wow. Essentially my boyfriend and I have been unknowingly reciprocating almost this entire list with each other within the past three months. He and I have been dating for six. The only one that is in progress is #7 (PDA). He is HFA with ADD so getting him comfortable with potential PDA is a work in progress. I just make sure that he feels physically safe around me, that I am receptive to his requests and suggestions, he can be vulnerable around me without being judged, and I remember what he likes that brings him comfort and relaxes him. Helping him with his nephew and around his home unasked while we teamwork helps. Working my way to his heart through his stomach isn't a bad approach either. 😁 Edit: He and I are in our early thirties. So emotional maturity may play a huge role here.

These are all SO true. I have been married 23 years. My husband does all these things. I tell my children they don't need to marry a prince; they just need to marry someone who treats them like a princess - and this is exactly what I mean. (Although - he's not so much a planner - I tend to plan our dates. But he always talks about me with him in our future - he's just not picking out the restaurants!)

Matt ! why didn't I find you five years ago ! I would have known the guy I've been dating at that time wasn't in love although he said he was. I understood it the hard way after 2 years of relationship. He hadn't any friends, so being in a relationship helps him not to be lonely. My biggest mistake was to think that if he said something it was because he truly felt it because it's how it works for me. I'm a very shy person, and I only can speak my mind when I truly love somebody ( friend or boyfriend) . otherwise I stay quiet 😁. He kept forgetting my birthday, the things l love. He was an heavy smoker, which wasn't ok with my allergies, but he kept saying I was a liar about my allergies " creations of my mind " ... I was the one who asked for dates, planning holidays, showing affection and excusing when he hurted me. Until I told him he had to invest more in our relationship if he didn't want me to quit. I quit. As soon as I quit , he could call me 10 times a day , and promise me to plan out next holidays. Lool . But I said yes, because I was young and not really self confident . after 2 weeks, the real him just hitted again : he was the one who came back but put no effort in gaining me back. so I quit for good

the guy told me he didn't understand why I asked him for kisses or hugs once a day , for him I was needy. Lool. and he explained me his ex didn't require them : he didn't realized her ex didn't love her , she broke up with him after five years , just after he asked her to marry him 😂. this guy was a total mess and disrespectful , emotionally unavailable. I Am so Happy to have escaped this relationship. but three years after I still feel unable to date , and that I won't attract a great guy.Im not beautiful, and everyone around me has found his /her special one.
