Within a year or 2 it Croatia will have a bridge connecting Dubrovnik with the rest of the country, so you won't need a passport, it will enter the Schengen, and it will start using Euro.

@@HandLuggageOnly just to update: the bridge is connected, paved, and passed all tests. The roads leading to the bridge are being completed. As of June or July, it is expected to be opened to traffic.

The Peljesac bridge was just connected and will be open to traffic starting June or July. This means that you WILL be able to drive to all parts of the country without a passport.

I was in Dubrovnik in April…it was crazy busy. Tourists from all over the world. Yugoslavia was incredibly popular with us British in the 1970/80s.

I am from croatia and the beaches are always lovley so you dont rlly need water shoes but it would be nice to bring them bc there are some animals in water called morski jezovi they can't move but if u step on them it hurts cuz they have spikes and if a spike gets stuck in ur skin it can be poisoinus

Rocky beaches are the only ones worth going to! Sand gets into every place that it shouldn't, and typically has something buried in it until you step on it. The rocks are at least honest so you know what you're getting and they stay out of your private parts.
