Its time for another BABY BETTA UPDATE! Wow they are over three months old and are getting so big! They are now starting to show their Koi patterns and I am super excited to see how they will turn out!

I'm pretty sure I can see some stress stripes on most of the dark babies. Could totally be wrong though (probably am,lol). But wow they are SOOO pretty omg. I love those patterns that are coming in!

Awesome video!!! I got a baby male Betta for my daughter and have taken a crash course in Betta care, aquarium set-up and management, spent WAY MORE 💰 🤑 💸 than I ever imagined and a lot of valuable time...... so now I'm pretty attached to the little guy, Nemo. Well he seems to be happy as a little clam but every change freaks me out as a fairly new Betta mom.... well now I can see these tiny white ball things, like teeny tiny, filling the area inside him behind his organ area (like the round tummy part and then the white things are behind that where they slim in a triangle shape to the tale.). It's hard to explain but I have searched and searched... is this normal??? Is Nemo sick? Is it just body anatomy and I couldn't see it before? Food: crushed bug bites, and a betta food 1x day alternating (fish guy recommended) Water: 80° 7.0-7.2 PH Almond leaf replaced every 3 weeks Soft surround hides Gentle betta filter with hygger air-pump 10% water change weekly Fresh plants and peat moss taking hold with root tabs Activity: he swims all over, explores the whole tank, loves his hides and has 5 different resting places. Has not grown much, has not bubble-nested 😢 but hoping he will soon!!! Any tips greatly appreciated 😊

some of your darker bettas have stress stripes. maybe check your water parameters or consider moving the ones that are stressed into their own container to prevent bullying.

Those are baby stripes.. all baby bettas have them. If you look at my babies before they turned white they all had them . When adults have them then indeed it is from stress. But they are two different things :)

I honestly wonder if male Betta aggression is linked to them being kept in solitary confinement. Just like a male sheep, a ram, if kept alone their aggression can be deadly to other males and humans but if the ram is kept with others (males) since birth, their aggression is basically non-existent. It could possibly apply to the same general rules in Betta's.

TheFishGirl I don't think so because they're territorial, more so when they reach maturity. That's just their nature.

I think a lot of it has to do with Betta Fighting Sport in asia. They were bred specifically to be aggressive..so domesticated bettas are more aggressive then wild bettas. I did notice that males that live in community tanks are more docile.

Question! Today I tried to breed my Bettas........not successful 🙁 I did all the proper step to prepare them both over 2 weeks. The male made his bubble nest as I had the female near the tank were they could see each other. I floated her in his tank for 3 hrs before releasing her and noticed her vertical stripes. Within the first minute they attacked each other tearing off large pieces of fins. I only let it continue for 5mins then took her out. I thought the females weren't aggressive? What do think went wrong? Thanks

Its actually quite common for females to beat up males and damage their fins during breeding. Is your make long or short finned?

They would try to fight as they get old enough to breed because males will try to protect bubble nests but I did talk to a breeder that raised all males together from birth and kept them in the same tank and they never fought ...so while its risky..its possible. I did keep a male with females a long time ago ..and it worked out ..but because the male had zero interest in breeding..they just kinda co-existed.
