I'm suuuper tired from all the driving BUT I figured I would start the week with a simple update on the baby bettas ^_^ Now I need to organize the 40+ hrs of footage from the road trip so I can start the vlogs (which can be found on the bonus channel!) You've got some really nice looking bettas, there! I love the sturdy build on most of them. Nice bodies, and some great patterning! I think your weird little marble is so funny! It's amazing what weird phenotypes get passed down. Is he technically some kind of grizzle? Who knows! Guess he just falls under the "fancy" category. I've had my eye on a particular one that I'm hoping is a female. It's hard to tell without seeing them closer up. Luckily it's not the one that seems to be your favorite ; ) My white CTPK is gonna be a lucky guy! He also is very thick bodied and has black eyes, with a single black spot on his dorsal fin. It'll be interesting to see what kind of fry they would make.

oddly enough the one that really caught my eye is the fully electric blue one that keeps settling at the bottom, he wont be a breeder since he does not exhibit koi patterns but he's stunning! he is defos at least pet quality!

I enjoyed your video,I have a batch of baby bettas from 3 spawnings in a row howerever the Dad expired,hoping one the babys will be sutiable as the new male if the female can wait that long she is starting to show signs of eggs again,the mother was small dark blue female&male was a Gold in coloration!(my estimation is I have roughly 30 baby bettas that are 1 week or younger in age!)

Hey, I'm not a professional fish keeper, but I remember the video you made about heating the multiple betta tanks with one heater, and it may be possible for you to do the same with the jarring? Like, if you filled a container full of tank water, then jarred all of the bettas and made mesh lids for the jars, the water could be filtered, heated and shared between all the bettas, and you could even make partitions to put in between the more agressive ones? Just an idea, but the babies look beautiful!

I feel like you can determine the gender by the length of the ventral fins sense males tend to have longer fins. I have 3 juveniles that survived from my first batch and one of them has longer ventral fins. It’s also more aggressive than the other two so I’m guessing it’s a male. Have a two week old batch that’s doing much better than my first btw your videos helped me out so much! :)

instead of cupping them, why not separate them in to breeder boxes? that way you don't need to remove them from the tank and you wont need to so many water changes on them? im sure the boxes are more expensive than cups but it would keep them interacting with eachother too while also keeping them safe from each other.

I have a planted 5 Gallon tank with one male Betta. I would like to introduce a female but I am a bit scared he will attack her or she will attack him. I've introduced neons and shrimps to this tank and he attacks them all. Eventually had to remove them and put them in my 29 Gallon planted. Is there a good way to approach the introduction of a female? Not for breeding purposes but I'd like to add a fish with more color to the tank (he has a black body and deep dark blue fins). Regardless I love the little guys and if he's better off alone then that's how he will stay.

IBernE with bettas, if you are not breeding them, DO NOT mix genders. They will breed, or if they do not want to breed, one will probably die.

Madison Erickson thanks for the advice. Some fish I know have requirements in order to breed like specific temperature or brackish water etc I was hoping they needed something specific in order to breed and I would just not provide it. I guess he'll live a loner life then lol

Fry can grow up together before they reach sexual maturity..THEN they are separated. That is what all good betta breeders do.
