There is active voice monitoring, you have to hold down the mute button for 3 seconds and you can use the mic without the USB adapter but you will need a spliter on PC (on console or anything that can take a 3.5 headphone jack, you should be fine using the headset without the USB adapter.
@Nicktechnoo2 жыл бұрын
I guess sometimes it DOES pay to keep the instruction manual these days lmao It's strange to me that they made the voice monitoring OFF by default and a feature you can turn on with the MUTE button, but it's great to know that it's at least a possibility! My apologies for missing that in the review.

Will the headset be in 7.1 surround sound if I just plug it in my controller?
@Halocraft02113 күн бұрын
@Tbajeh no you have to use the USB dongle it comes with. Plug the headset into your console and you should be able to use all the features. Btw after having it for 2 years I've had no issues whatsoever besides the earcups peeling but that's an easy replacement.

I just bought this one for my ps5, this is the third headset that I have gotten for the ps5, and I think I'm going to keep this one, I think for the console it is the best one I've tried, the sound card allows me to use the surround features on console, I personally always prefer to play close to the tv so the USB thing works well. But when I do play further, the 3.5 jack works great too, I don't have the features of the sound board but the ps5 controller mute button works great to mute the mic. I tried the Razer Kraken V3 and the audio was too low even at max volume, they were comfortable, but I was not pleased with the sound. For the console even though it is compatible it is not the best, because the preset settings are very mild, not sure if once changed on the computer the settings transfer to the console or not. I don't have a pc so I can't play around with it. I also tried the Sony H3 and they were the worst, from the 3 I have tried so far, the sound like a cheap radio speaker and at max volume the sounds is too sharp to where your ears hurts pretty bad, but not even provide a nice sound. Yes I know at max sound It shouldn't be used anyways, but I like to test it and see. In a way, it felt to me like dollar store earphones connected to earmuffs the sound was not immersive at all. Again this may bw limited to not being able to change the settings due to not having a PC but the preset setting at not good at all. It's usable and better than cheaper options (probably) maybe the H7 and H9 are better. But these hyperx alpha s have been good right out of the box, being able to use, all of the features on PS5 and not limited to PC only, something which the kraken v3 did have a limitation to console, not being able to use all of the settinngs except on windows.

So buyer beware every thing he say is true I do love my hyperX alpha s but the 7.1 is very terrible at times sounding very shallow. I don’t know if it was my head set or something else but as soon as I used my old hyperX cloud 2 wire it sounded great. So if you want it for the 7.1 I recommend going with a different model because the 7.1 adapter it comes with doesn’t seem to be very good.

If you want a realistic review from someone who used them for much longer, the surround sound is a useless marketing gimmick, it sounds horrible and usually is worse then just using it without. Another thing is without the USB sound card, the audio is staticy and makes weird noises. The wire of the headphones is also like 12ft long, and extremely thick, never fails to knot itself around something and rip off my head. The bass sliders also do literally nothing, they change the bass so little that you basically can’t distinguish between them. For $100 I’m not impressed and I think there’s much better options, even wireless options. For the same price. Like the razor barracuda X, or the razor black sharks

Please help to decide: Steelseries Arctis Pro (wired) Or Kingston HyperX Cloud Alpha S I'll be using them for gaming but also for listening music. Also theres a lot of speculation of (both models) mic quality it doesn't bother me, what i need is max connectivity - able to connect to my smartphone, laptop and gaming pc. So max performance should be not only on USB but also on standard 3.5 mm jack. Where could i experience decent bass, lows mids and highs?
@Nicktechnoo2 жыл бұрын
I would say for a better BASS response, go with the steelseries. For comfort and overall clarity, I would go with the HyperX. Thankfully both will get the job done for what you need them for!
@aphexgaming19832 жыл бұрын
@@Nicktechnoo Initialy was obsesed with Steelseries Arctis Pro - minimalastic design and "for audiophiles" perk - "that reproduce Hi-Res audio out to 40,000 Hz, nearly double what most standard headsets are capable of (22,000 Hz).". Diggin' deeper found out these have serious design - durability flaws which are real issue if you are that planet-friendly person who like to use fav product really long time - 4 - 7 year. Also these are not friendly for the big heads :) Second selection was Hyperx Cloud Alpha S. Initially thought it was a serious upgrade (from Cloud Alpha) in all aspects from sound and mic to connectivity and convenience (cause it was released after several years after Cloud Alpha). But i was wrong - they added 7.1 surround (but im not 16yo anymore and find it more like useless gimmick or marketing trick) but also made some serious functionality flaws (in 3.5 mm mode you cannot control volume directly on the wire like you can do it on much cheaper Cloud Alphas). So finally i ordered HyperX Cloud Alphas :) :)

Can be muddy when not set up with the proper settings in sound mixer. I currently use Arctic, Razer, Logitech and now, Hyper X Alpha S. Best choice I've ever made in the less than 150 dollar headsets. I've relegated my Razer headset as my go to when using my keyboard and midi. I don't use mics on my headsets as I do content creation so the mic is not a game changer. The sound trebles are crisp, mids are distinct, and the bass is smooth without any distortion. The 7.1 is a must when listening to music. These are definitely built for gaming and have saved my butt when the bad guys were trying to sneak up on me. I can use as both a jack or as a USB set up. Note: The USB only has to be used if you want to use the 7.1 for an awesome music listening experience. Best ever when comparing headsets for comfort. I can wear these for hours without discomfort.
