Thank you so much for these shortcuts and in fact all of your info. We have just spent a week in Edinburgh and used so much of your content. Here’s to you !! 😊 I was born in Edinburgh and have visited twice before in the 54 years I have lived in Cape Town. My heart is full 🤩

We did the same walk a few weeks back, enjoyed Edinburgh and the weather was sunny and lovely ❤️❤️❤️ and then Dublin, Dundee, Carlisle and back home to BC Canada .. It was lovely to show hubby where I was born and finding my granny’s apt on number 2 St Mary’s Street was awesome touching the blue door ❤️and feeling connected to my family … thx for your videos throughout the years as it helped me get my sense of direction

First watched your videos before we ever visited Edinburgh a few years ago. When we first arrived it felt like we had been before and that was thanks to you. Itwas amazing to follow the shortcuts and also look for all the hidden things we would never have seen if we had not watched you. I am a big history fan and love listening to all the facts too. Currently planning another trip in October, can’t wait to return.

As always, you are the best. Thank you so much. Truly do enjoy the tidbits and the short cuts .We need them. Now, if there is an underground tunnel leading from the Conservatory to the Kitchen, you can take your rope, wrench or other weapons with you in search of Col. Mustard or Miss Scarlett.

When we were in Edinburgh we actually stayed in one of the apartments of Advocate's close. It was such a central point we were amazed how easy everything was to find from there.

I've learned so much from watching your videos, I don't live a million miles away ( in between Glasgow and Edinburgh) but I'm enjoying getting to know Edinburgh more particularly through your channel, I struggle walking after an emergency op on my spine so these are excellent thank you look forward to seeing the next one 👍

I’m from Edinburgh, and in 2021 I moved from Gilmerton to Hawick, in the Borders.. Due to missing all my immediate family. Obv mum, daughter & 4 brothers.. I was getting so lonely after my partner passed away.. (we where best pals tae) together since 2001-2013.. RIP Scott💙 And, my daughter had moved back & forward from mines to Hawick over that time period, as well as mum, brothers & myself Aw visiting each other..& aye they kept nagging at me to move doon to the Borders.. I gave up a huge 3 bedroom house, in a brand new cul-de-sac & omg, I miss it sooo much🥺🥺🥺 On the plus side though, I’m just minutes walk away from my mum & 1 wee brother! The bus to see my other 3 wee bro’s & daughter.. And we can still get buses up to Edinburgh for a few days, bc we’ve still got extended family like Aunties in Penicuik & Gracemount..& Oxgangs. So we can stay overnight.. 💙🥳 I love aw yer videos..esp the short cut 1’s bc it’s a fab wee city to get about on foot, or bike or buy a day saver & jump on & off buses..if yer lazy lol 😂😂 Take Care💙🎉 And Congrats on yer 2nd child which if I’m right was in 2021/2?? 💜👩🏻‍🍼👶🏻💜 (When you did an opening of the Baby Box) video, which id saw on an American You Tube channel on Scotland & the UK.. I’ve watched a couple of yer vids & they’re great so I’ve now subscribed!! 👍🏼🥰 Looking forward to watching your next vids.. Jen.❣️

FYI - This is actually only 2 more handy shortcuts as you did Advocates Close in a previous 3 Handy Shortcuts from a year ago. Other shortcuts to consider: Chambers Street (museum) down to Cowgate via Guthrie Street; Infirmary Street down the the Cowgate (passing Blackwell's Bookshop and Dovecote Studios, both offering eats); Royal Mile to St. James/top of Leith Street/Playhouse via New Street (by Adagio Hotel and the Canons' Gait) then left onto Calton Rd. is nine quiet mins. Would also be useful for folk to know the various entrances/exits to Waverly Station including - The Waverley Steps; - via Waverley Mall; - via Market Street (w/Fleshmarket Close, Warriston Close, Advocates Close, and the News Steps providing shortcuts from the High Street); - via Calton Road (so many people, even locals are unaware of this rear entrance. You could point out where the footbridge once extended from Jeffrey Street to that entrace; there stone foundation base is still at the station end. Cheers.
