Always a 👍👍👍 One of my go to trailers is a little finesse worm.

that's a good idea - like a stick bait or a standard finesse worm?

The chatter bait is one of those weird baits that can make an inactive fish become active, even the right kind of worms on those things can be a killer presentation, thanks for the input !!!

We have a ton of ponds and lakes that has so much grass that it's unreal. Do you think a plasma tail from Biospawn would work on a chatterbait? I put a Biospawn vilecraw on my chatterbait and it caught me a 5¾ but Texas rigged exostick in Okeechobee Craw caught me my PB...6.2 lbs. Love using a chatterbait and anything from Biospawn.

So I am going to try a chatter bait this season for the first time. I am using a swim bait for the trailer, but it is the yum pulse. They have fins on the side of the bait to guide the bait down naturally. If I rig that upside down will the whole rig rise in the water? Water is frozen were I live or I would just go out and try. Thanks Jon
@mikeybalzz6 жыл бұрын
no idea man. only thing i would note is the reason i run the ez is the tail is at 90 degrees. alot of those other swimbaits have it at a slight angle on the tail and don't kick when you flip them over. that's the only think i'd look out for.

@unicornsteaks67696 жыл бұрын
They'll still bite in rocky places or around docks or laydowns. Try to bounce them off structure and hard cover. But, yeah, they work great right on top of grass and they're way more weedless than you'd think.

Good call on flipping the paddle tail upside down. I’ve been doing that for a couple years now. Definitely keeps the bait down in the water better. A more subtle trailer that I use is a 3.5” Freeminnow by 412 Bait Co. You can get them in the standard (buoyant) formula, or the TS (tournament/salty = slow sinking) formula. www.fishingonline.com/products/412-bait-company-free-minnow My favorite trailer for just about any bait

try picking it up when you're catching fish on a trap or a squarebill. it's usually a good opportunity to interchange and try it out.

A couple of tips if you are interested. I fish a lake that is loaded with grass and the bladed jig is by far my favorite bait. I fish two different baits. The main one is a 3/8oz pure poison white/chartreuse with white little dipper trailer. I dont think color matters too much because ive caught a lot on bluegill type color patterns too. Many fish these baits kind of fast but i fish them just fast enough to keep the blade moving. Seems to work better for me. The second bait is a strike king rage blade. Looks and fishes a little different. Same colors and trailers but it fishes much slower to keep it high in the water column. If im fishing 1-4ft of water with grass in it then ill fish this bait. The same speed i fish the poison will bring this bait to the surface. Much better in shallow grass. 15 lbs flourocarbon unless im in timber where i go to 20lbs. Hope it works for you if you use it. Good luck and good fishin.

Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper?? Any thoughts?
@mikeybalzz6 жыл бұрын
solid pick. personally thoughi prefer the ez swimmer - it's just a hair bigger and gives teh bait a little more bulk and casting distance.
@williamhbonnie55146 жыл бұрын
I fish a predominantly grass lake and the vibrating jig is my overwhelming bait of choice. My favorite rig is a 3/8 oz pure poison with a little dipper trailer. Ive used the skinny dipper but didnt seem to get bit near as much. Havent caught monster bass but i catch a lot of 4-7 ibs fish. Favorite color is white/chartreuse with a gold blade white trailer but i catch them on about any shad or bluegill pattern. Just something to consider.
