I have 52 yo combo/oily (leaning oily) skin and gravitate to satin finish , light buildable foundations. Its so challenging to find because most lean too dewy, glowy, luminous, etc for my preference. Any suggestion for satin finishes ( which is btwn matte n all the shiny , dewy, glowy,etc)?

I have the Chanel one. Very sheer. Also have the Jane Iredale one shown in this video, much more pigmented. More like a foundation. Not sure if she has an affiliate link for this, but I personally didn’t find it all that impressive. I went on a binge where I bought about a half dozen of these serum foundations in all price ranges…and to be honest, Covergirl makes one for around $15 and it’s just as good as the pricier ones.

This is interesting. Because your friend Angie just tried out the new Mario foundation and did not have much luck with that. I love Jane Iredale products so will have to try that one out. I also like the Alaskin sunscreen. However you said the Nars is so good, and in a prior video you loved the merit glow so I went out and purchased it and I do not see a darn difference except for the fact it pills under makeup. So I have been disappointed in that product.

The Jane Iredale pressed foundation also layers beautifully over the tinted serum. It does not get cakey or heavy. I just use the powder through my t-zone to add a little extra coverage and reduce shine.

Hi Lisa! Just rewatched this video , and I’m really impressed with the Jane Iredale product! I believe I’ll need to give that a try…I hate a heavy, full coverage foundation, but I have rosacea, so it can get tricky. If I wear that with my Elta MD tinted sunscreen, that may be enough to cover the red patches. I’m in agreement with some of your other viewers: I’d love to see a tutorial of how you did your makeup for this video, especially the eyes. They’re so bright and lovely! What do you think about Thrive Causemetics? I’m 58 years old and have recently rejoined the workforce, so I’m doing makeup again, which I haven’t done so much for 13 years, being on disability. I was drawn to Thrive because of their mission of helping other women with my purchase. But watching so many other options through you, I’m wondering. New product - Replenix Age Restore Brightening Moisturizer has been one of my newest finds I’ve been really enjoying. I tend to have a fair amount of oil breakthrough around my nose and on my chin throughout the day. This product seems to slow that down some. Oh my! I am so confused but want to be more natural minimalist while stepping up my game on 59 year old very sensitive and dry skin. Yes! My routine changes a lot but typically I use a foaming face wash (right now it is Ceravu), a serum and moisturizer. I also incorporate P50 Lotion when I feel my skin is getting dull..I will do that after washing before serum

Rene Klein, Two options: "The first thing you'll need is an eye primer, one without any pigment. "You want to press it into the sides of the nose where the sunglasses make contact," she says. "Then, apply a concealer or foundation over top and blend that in." Got a setting spray, setting powder, and makeup sponge on hand? Great, 'cause you're going to need them. "Soak a sponge in a long-lasting setting spray and grab a fair amount of loose setting powder," Holmes explains. "Pack it over the top [of the concealer or foundation] and let it marinate for a few minutes." In other words, bake your nose. Lightly brush it off with a fluffy makeup brush once it's had time to sit. If you want to take things a step further, Holmes says you can also wipe down the nose pads of your sunglasses with a bit of alcohol (which you should probably do on the regular anyway so you're not letting your nose soak in your leftover oil). A light dusting of setting powder in the same area is the cherry on top." OR Mix the following two setting sprays and your makeup shouldn't transfer: ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr "On 'Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray "and Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray. Allie Glines discovered this magic combo in her video "What I'd Buy for YOU at Sephora" last October. OR use a great setting spray and there should be no transfer, even onto a white shirt.

I don't use powder in the winter, but that trick could work well in the summer. I'm now currently using the Hourglass Ambient foundation, and that hardly transfers at all! Hi! I don't but I am so flattered you asked! I had invisalign a few years ago and it really straightened them out. I use whitestrips every few months. I actually was interested in veneers a while back but I am too scared to do anything so permanent to my face right now. The Nars Light Reflecting firming serum is actually nothing special at all. Having checked out the ingredients, it's basically : Water, dimethicone glycerin, lots of fragrance and a touch of MICA! I believe the "firming" occurs because of some sugarcane I'm not (and never will) pay $80 for such rudimentary ingredients!! Sorry Lisa, but this product is not what I'm looking for and, if I was, I wouldn't pay no more than $15 for this. Love you, 💗🤍💗🤍💗
