I was 33.6 stone overweight until one day I had enough. I started to watch your videos and started to believe in myself thanks you your video. You explain everything out on what you need to build muscle, how much protein you have to eat and carbs. I am now 61 years old I am now 100kg half the man I was, and my diabetes is in remission thank God. I built a gym at home got all the equipment I need, and I go out at 04:00AM every morning no matter what the weather. I am an ex Royal Marine Commando retired have PTSD and the training helps with my PTSD. Thank you for your videos and for explaining everything out simple and by the way I do eat nothing, but high protein red meat white meat with rice and potatoes. I am sorry I do not take protein drinks as my doctors has advise me against these supplements. I do take vitamins iron, Magnesium Glycinate 1200. I also take L-Arginine Amino Acid, multi vitamins, vit D3 20,000 units a week plus I also take an extra of Omega fish oil, vit B Complex. Losing so much weight actually has brought me back to the ideal weigh when I was in the R.M.C and now I feel a lot more alive in great condition for a man of managed 61. Thank you so much for posting these videos and giving us men the opportunity to be a lot more positive and a healthy living with confidence and motivation every day.

Yes, carbohydrates play a significant role in protein synthesis and overall muscle recovery. Here’s how they contribute: ### 1. **Energy Source** - **Fuel for Workouts:** Carbohydrates are the primary energy source during high-intensity exercise. Sufficient glycogen stores allow you to train harder, leading to better muscle adaptation and growth. ### 2. **Insulin Response** - **Insulin Secretion:** Consuming carbohydrates stimulates insulin release. Insulin is an anabolic hormone that helps transport amino acids into muscle cells, facilitating protein synthesis. ### 3. **Sparing Protein** - **Preserving Muscle:** Adequate carbohydrate intake can help spare protein from being used as an energy source. This allows more amino acids to be available for muscle repair and growth. ### 4. **Glycogen Restoration** - **Recovery:** After exercise, replenishing glycogen stores with carbohydrates is essential for recovery. This helps prepare your muscles for future workouts, promoting ongoing protein synthesis. ### 5. **Hormonal Balance** - **Supporting Hormones:** Carbohydrates can help maintain optimal hormonal levels, including those that promote muscle growth and recovery. ### Conclusion While protein is crucial for muscle repair and growth, carbohydrates are equally important for providing the energy needed for workouts and supporting the physiological processes involved in protein synthesis. A balanced intake of both macronutrients is vital for optimal muscle health and performance.

That's tough for Type 2 diabetics like myself where the carbs contribute to keeping your glucose levels high. I choose my carbs carefully. I've lost weight and body fat by reducing carbs.
@james197091Ай бұрын
@@ktcarl True! But you can't tell these carb advocates that! Our bodies can use fats for fuel no need for carbs except a few time a week.......starches shouldn't be combined with meat pr protein as they digest in different mediums, acid for protein and alkaline for carbs, causes bloating and gas

Mark, mate, I’m from Scotland and can’t believe I’m going to have to teach someone from Texas about a cold drink 😂 that protein shake needs to start life in a blender with lots of Ice! What I try and do is keep the powder I’ll use for the day, in tubs in the fridge. Take it out, mix it with nice ice cold milk, plenty of Ice, blend it, and you get the most amazing cold protein shake. Keep up the good work, mate, only discovered your channel a few weeks ago and love it!

@napendaadventure I use eggs for omelettes etc. I put organic hemp powder in a glass with home distilled clean water n mix and I have that twice a day. Its processed by the body fast and has all the aminos the body needs and more. Meat reduces the bodies ability to build muscle because its very dense second teir protein.

Good information, but I would add: 1. Most whey protein powders contain Sucralose - aka poison for your gut. Isopure stands out as one of the best that doesn't. 2. Most greek yogurts are high in sugar or artificial sweeteners. The best option is unsweetened plain greek yogurt at Costco - just add a few drops of their pure vanilla and a tablespoon of honey and you're good to go. Wayyyy healthier! 3. Tuna contains mercury and can really cause inflamation. Great protein source but avoid eating it more than once a week or twice a month. Salmon (not farm raised) is a much better option.
