3. Passenger door & window felt replacement

For the third video, I thought I would install the spare passenger door that came with the truck when I purchased it. It looks like someone did the majority of the work on it, although I did apply a little body filler to one section.
I had originally recorded myself swapping over all the parts from the original door, but then I soon realized that I didn't have the window channel & door felts, so I needed to disassemble the door again to instal them. Armed with the previous knowledge of assembly/disassembly , I decided to include only the second go round.

Very good job, very similar to my 1965 GMC , thus video helped me in several ways, i replaced the felt and channel weatherstrip on both sides, discovered the drivers side was missing bottom channel and glass was just sitting on the rollers, i ordered the right part and very happy to actually understand how it comes out and back in

Great video. The problem I had with my window felts was that when I rolled the window up, it pulled the felt out of its mounting. and one of the clips broke in the felt so now I have dual scratches on my glass. Cheap quality felts I guess.

my 68 pu project so far i only have 2200 in it put a stroke 454 tunnel ram 400 turbo 12 bolt possi next need drop spindles disc breaks for the front the body is very clean most of the chrome is perfect still has factory paint on it needs paint bad but the under side is all dun and painted drive train is dun just need to do the interior not quit sure what i want to do with it yet

Why didn't the kit replace the felt on the back of the wing channel? Seems like that would complete the door!

Did this make a big difference on wind noise? Also how did those inner bottom doors look? Any rust and dirt accumulation?

Well, the way it's currently geared It doesn't go much over 45mph, but I never really noticed much wind noise. It did however stop a lot of rattling! I didn't really do a close examination of the inside, the outside looks good enough, I'm not too concerned at the moment... I'm sort of going through the truck "Roucg draft" style right now, once I get that finished I can go back through it and start working on the details... I just know that for my personality that if I tried to do everything perfect, it would never get done.

Yeah, it actually cleans up fairly easily with mineral spirits.. But honestly I'm likely going to be replacing them in the future so it's not at the top of my priority list.
