I followed and made this recipe. I am here to say it was delicious! Yes it does take time to do the prep work, just like any other home made dish. You could do most of the prep the day before as far as chopping and measuring in order to cut your work down, i.e. the peeled potatoes submerged in water etc. This is worth the effort and your family will thank you for it. This is a 10 out of 10 video.

I made this as instructed except for a bit more bacon and unintentionally a little less potato. I must have made the slices a little thinner and thus had potato left over. My wife said this was her favorite all-time dish and to please make it again and again! It really was delicious, especially the 2nd day leftovers we reheated. Thanks for the great recipe.

Excellent recipe! The first time I made it, it came out perfectly. My potato slices weren't as uniform as in the video. I just made sure they overlapped a little like in the video and made sure they covered the baking tray with no gaps. Everyone liked it. Sauteed Mushrooms could be added to the mixture for a safe variation that wouldn't change the recipe too much. Also, I "fry" my bacon in the oven like it's done in hotels for their breakfast bars. Then cut it into pieces afterward. It's much easier and less effort than pan frying bacon.

Uniformity comes with knife skills, and type of knife used. May I suggest getting an adjustable Mandolin (not Star Wars~Mandalorian) and you will have perfect slices every single time. Plz, use the included safety device that holds the food, to protect your hands. Even us skilled Chefs have gotten sliced by them.
