I hope it didn't bother that man when his ramen was called "cheap"; in america it's not always a bad thing when food is called cheap, food here can be so expensive so when food is delicious and affordable we use that word with affection. We do also use that word as an insult as well, english can be confusing like that.

There are two words for cheap “Yasui” which literally means cheap, and “otoku” which more means “a good deal.” I’m guessing they probably used the latter.

Depends on how many customers that have come in into the ramen shop, but I calculate with imaginary of 30 customers and if I know the math formula well it unlikely to be 17 thousand+ a year or 2 I just don't know the formula these days

I'm curious if that has to deal with sodium content in ones body. Some people have conditions that make it hard to retain or break down sodium (similar to me with vitamin B12 where body wont absorb it unless in large quantities). Your body does need sodium to some degree, so it could be related to that.

I think that value of the last restaurant was the best value they've ever had on the show, because they got several courses of fine, high end food for only $80 (considerably cheaper than the $777 burger or the $1000+ cake)

I think there's cheap food in most places. You can get a pretty good slice of pizza in New York for $1 or a McDouble anywhere in America. In China you can get some great dumplings off the street for about $1.50 a plate.

Growing up as an Asian decent I tend to work for small Asian reastruants, I work at a Ramen shop, a small nice family owned buisness the feeling of making Ramen and having passion for what you do is the best feeling ever. I can relate to the first guy that is how it should feel, loving,warming,and as a family!
