I've been subbed for about 2 years now, and I've tuned into some of your live streams. I don't like the way you put yourself down. You're not disinteresting, and you're not boring. If the guy that makes these finds them boring, then what does that make me, the viewer? I also have never known the story of your thumbs. I've picked up that you don't like when people ask about them, so I'm not, and I never have all this time. I'm just bringing it up to make you aware that even without all the answers, we love your content and will tune into it even when parts of it are a complete mystery. Thanks for all the entertainment, and here's to many more years of it!

All the sensors are fake they’re not supposed to be spitting numbers if they’re not on your wrist the real sensors are really well calibrated to avoid false positives as much as possible

Hey there, Thanks for tuning in and I appreciate the feedback. Because I rushed through this video and didn't have a proper plan for it I just thought it may not be as exciting as other videos I have put out that's all. I know that you folks get a kick out of anything I put out but I just didn't feel this one was up to scratch but it seems ok and I am glad people appreciate it :) With my thumbs I actually have talked about it in a video and stuff. On my second channel you can see they are damaged due to trauma and my own fault so I started covering them up and then when the channel got some momentum I decided to just wear them for every video as a bit of an icon for the channel. Makes everything just a bit unique. My thumbs are reasonable now but the bandaids stay because that's how I like things to roll now :) So many people ask about it but I have talked about it and figured it's easy for people to pick up that it's just there as a channel thing as there is a bandaid on the thumb in my icon. But anyways, hope that clears some stuff up. Thanks heaps for watching and I may catch you on a live stream!

@@SMOOREZ I appreciate the reply, like I said, I'd picked up bits and pieces here and there, but combing through hundreds of hours of videos for maybe 10 or 20 seconds of explanation seemed far more difficult than simply accepting that they were just how you liked things. My point was, your vids are great, and I know we are our own greatest critics, but I've always enjoyed everything you've made.

The ringtones of the Pendo watch are all old Samsung ones, i miss the TouchWizHome days...
@VolivovejVolej2 жыл бұрын
The ringtones on the Pendo watch are all pinched off Samsung phones… approximately the Galaxy S3 era. Even the single beep - Samsungs had “Beep once” and “Beep beep” in their ringtone list, too… they may have been inspired by Nokia S60 phones there, even the pitch is the same (tone A). Thanks for the great video, as always! 🤟

I enjoyed this video! The mesh metal band is a welll known watch band type that has been around since wristwatches became a thing around WW1. They are called Milanese Mesh watchbands. Unless you pay for the better small brands like Lemfo most of the sensors are either fake or wildly inaccurate...that's why the disclaimers always mention that the readings should not be taken to be the same quality as medical devices. Keep the videos coming, Smoorez!
@BobLu2 жыл бұрын
Many of these cheap activity tracker have fake heart rate/blood oxygen sensor. The problem is, even the ones with real sensors often read "something" from non-living objects and give you a number. Mi bands are famously/notoriously known to do this. Jumping up and down for a minute and put on the device generally will allow you to tell if the heart rate is fake. Hold your breath until you can't anymore and see if the blood oxygen meter gives you a warning. As of blood pressure... pretty much anything claims be able to do BP is always fake.
@Mashamazzi2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think holding your breath does anything to blood oxygen monitors, I’ve tried while I was in the hospital lol
@BobLu2 жыл бұрын
@@Mashamazzi You can, at least for those household grade fingertip device. I've tried it myself and have filmed it. I will upload it when I have time. I suspect that the hospital ones are intentionally designed to display a averaged out number, thus being less sensitive to short term blood oxygen level change. Just my guess, tho.

I had a band similar, if not the exact same, as the last one. It worked step counting was excellent, heartbeat was always accurate too. Blood pressure was sketchy though. Its battery lasted close to three weeks. The hardest part was taking the silicone band off one side to charge it - which took about an hour. All in all it was good for the price except, on my device, the Bluetooth would disconnect and not reconnect automatically...its only fault. It was nearly indestructible I gave it away after a year or so as a friend admired it and I wanted a new model. She still has it three years later.

Charging took about an hour, taking the band off took five minutes or so.

I had one of the last one you showed, but even more budget with an unpainted, black case instead of silver and only 2 metal strips instead of 4 on the charging plug. RE the Blood Pressure: 120/80 mmHg is kind of the 'Ideal' blood pressure for an adult although I have a feeling it just always spits that out... The heart rate monitor seems like it is legit, really anywhere between 60-110 BPM is ok. AFAIK the heart rate module is super cheap to implement while the new 'optical blood pressure' sensors are either expensive or non-existent + processing would not go very well on these devices considering their performance (or lack thereof). (Sidenote: This is not medical advice in any sense, For that you would need a medical practitioner which I am not)

The red outline mimics the AWS4, and as for as the pulse, pressure, etc… That is the next gen, sensors. It can read vitals while it is not on the persons body. If anyone with the AW then you have probably had someone who didn’t have the AW and check their vitals in certain situations. With that watch, you can continue to wear it, and check someone else’s vitals, at the same time.

Love the video, I hope you will do more some review of stuff like that(not only phones but gadgets, watches etc) As for those heartrate sensors I had bunch of smartbands and 90% of them had fake sensors or ones that where not calibrated(or with just emiter working not photodetector/cmos sensor). Ones that tell you that they measure blood pressure are 99% fake as proper sensor that do that is just really recently popped up and it still far from accurate to be even fancy novelty. For most of time they use the same sensor module that I think is some throwback from factory and all it do is light up led diodes and use sensor it self to detect if something is close to it so it can show fancy animation on screen pretending to do something. Just few worked properly(as they tried to detect blood vessel contractions not just sensing that something is close to photodetector) but calibration was off too much to be useful for anything. Also few of them didnt had proper battery protection chip so batteries often get rekt really badly as they get overcharged or make watch turn them self on without any reason draining batteries messing their properties so they get swollen or get hot few sec after plugging it to charger. Overall im fan of simple smartwatches/smart bands as I dont see the reason to have bunch of useless features on watch that should be addition to phone not replacement. So for me my current Huawei Band 7 is perfect as it do what smartband should do: show notifications, time, measure basic things like health or sport activities and have some typical feature like stopwatch or timer.... because why you would need more if you have phone in a pocket? Also I need to charge it like once per week, 30min and its full, so I dont need to play with it every night like Apple watch or any wearOS device that get flat after 2-3 days.

Man, many thanks for another awesome video! 😀🧡 A few quick(ish) notes about that "Pendo" watch (Better be careful how I type that!)... 😛 1. I had a "5ive" (sic) branded watch with that same collection of ringtones on it, which appear to be nicked off older Samsungs. Tbh if I still had it and tore it down, I wouldn't be surprised if it was much the same inside. 🙂 2. "Pendo" is UK trainspotter slang for the "Pendolino" trains that run between London and Glasgow, and this video is the only time I've ever seen that word used outside of this context. At a guess, the manufacturers of these things are just plucking brand names out of random Facebook posts! 🙃 3. The 1MB file "space" inside the watch is (I would guess) intended more for importing things like calendar files and perhaps clockface graphics *to* the watch, rather than for storing data generated *on* the watch. Given the number of features (Like the camera and video recorder) that are useless in practice for the very small storage, I'm going to guess this was made for eBay... 😉

It is not possible to measure blood pressure with a band around your wrist, unless said band inflates with air. Even if the band actually fills with air, and properly compresses around the wrist, blood pressure measurements taken on wrist are much less accurate than upper-arm bp measurements. It's weird that they would put a feature on the device that is not technologically possible. Those are the easiest to debunk. You would think they'd stick to fake features that are real-world. But hey, if the device looks good on paper, that's all that most people need. That tactic has worked for years, Samsung is a big fan of that. The galaxy a20 has 2 rear cameras! That sounds good, but the wide-angle lens appears to be ripped out of a low-end side mirror car camera. The image is so blurry and grainy that all the images look like they were shot for an early-90's rock video (low budget one hit wonder style) But hey, it sounds good on the box! Hell yeah! And before anyone tells me not to expect too much from a $300 phone camera: why put the crappy useless wide angle camera on it in the first place? Leave out the 2nd camera and put the $3 saved into a better speaker, or a status LED, or a screen print of a goddamn panda on the back. I don't use my phone to shoot VHS quality pop videos.

Like someone else said here on the comments, devices who measure hr can also measure hr on non-living things, that's because it measures how much of the green light is bouncing back to the sensor (the same thing happens with blood, it bounces back green light).
