Such a nice bird. Right now I’ve pretty much met my limit. But, if circumstances were different I would consider them.🤩

I'm at my limit too... It's important to know what a"full flock" is for yourself. I'm grateful that I have help with my flock.

I love watching your videos! Thank you so much. I have an almost 1 year old velcro Hahn’s Macaw and my husband wants a friend for him. Would you suggest to get a Cape Parrot female(because of the colors ❤)? Or rather a male? I love the Golden Conure but it seems that these species are not very good talkers.
@ParrotBliss Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t classify a Cape as a good talker either. A friend for a Hahn’s would probably best be a conure of similar size. Of course, they may be loud. My Hahn’s doesn’t befriend other birds, so I can’t say what would be best. If you prefer to get a Cape, they may do great - I just don’t have experience with this. However, I LOVE Capes and Goldens- and my Hahn’s is awesome! LMK what you do!

My Cape is very calm and always like to be on my shoulder. I have him all day w 2 budgies, 1 Quaker and 2 GCC in one place and they are peaceful and completely fine w each other. I was afraid that this set up may not work before I got him but it’s totally fine. That May be the best part. He really doesn’t bother or be aggressive towards other birds
@ParrotBliss3 жыл бұрын
Yes, Capes seem to be amazing that way. It sounds like you have a great flock! Post pictures of them all in the group, if you will 😊

I hope I have a similar experience with mine. I have a GCC and she’s a little troublemaker. My baby cape should be ready to come home in 6-8 weeks
I’m seeing a lot of very conflicting information as I read about Cape Parrot temperament. Some are with you and say they’re extremely sweet and out going while others say they’re very stubborn and very moody once fully mature. Do you have fully mature Cape Parrots? If so, what has been your experience with them? Thanks!
@ParrotBliss Жыл бұрын
They are both! Yes, they can be stubborn in the sense that they have a big beak, so they aren't intimidated easily. However, when you are bonded, they are super sweet. One of my two favorite species! They are amazingly non-aggressive (I've never seen them even be aggressive with other birds. They resort to biting as a very last resort. If you want a calm, sweet, intelligent bird, they are great!

I have prior experiencee with cockatiels, and I thought they were fairly easy to take care of. Is that enough experience to adopt a Cape Parrot?

kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHPLnHRobsp8jpY That link is to my philosophy on easier, harder or starter Parrots. I think this will answer your question, it’s not about the parrot for me as much as it is about how you dedicated you are. And, you probably already know that I think capes are fabulous companions! But consider getting 2.

My male cape parrot bites like hell and dives bombs with that beak lol how is yours mellow ?
@ParrotBliss Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that! How old is he- oh, young, right? Has he always been this way? Sometimes ours does the dive bomb- showing who is in charge. You have some big Macaws - your Cape probably needs a parrot that is similar in temperament. I don't know what Patagonians are like, does he hang out? Our Capes have each other and I believe it makes all the difference. How is your Cape with the rest of the flock? Does he have a friend?

@@ParrotBliss Hi! Thank you for your message. So Noa does not get along with birds I would def not rec him getting a friend. Parrots doesnt workout like that just because I have the same species it doesnt mean theyll get along. I think it honestly all depends i actually went on cape parrot forum and heard that they mellow out when theyr each the age of 10 and its just not my cape getting bitey. I think its just their human nature tbh but thanks anyways i love your videos!

Hey so I am trying a new method with my 3 caiques soon to be 4 when I get my fourth one this Friday, Anyhow ever since I got my last female caique a few days ago , I been keeping her in my room with me on a stand , with food and a water bowl on a sheet spreed that I use for my birds when they are out of their cage to contain most the the mess they make , so basically she hasn't been caged up only when I am at work otherwise she is free to roam around my room all day long when I am home and I have let my other two caiques do this as well so that all of them can be comfortable around each other and form a bond with each other and myself even at night time when it's time to go to bed I don't cage them anymore I life them sleep on the perch stand I have set up for them , I feel like this method will help the new caique to feel more comfortable in her new surroundings and I plan on continuing this method even when the fourth one gets here tomorrow, Let me know what you think , If you get what I am saying and also if their is anything else I should do to improve this method ..
