The real issue is that women (in general, Catholic or not) find most men unattractive. These men can do absolutely nothing to "magically" change this circumstance, especially in the age of a global interconnected digital world.
@swires1
@swires1 6 ай бұрын
The p... and other addictions you bring up are mostly a symptom of that, too. You think if a guy were well-received, he would usually feel the need to lower himself to this?! Also "strong men" aren't really in demand anymore either.

This entire matter can be summed up with 1 scripture 2 Timothy 3:1-4 1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. If a man fits this description in more than one aspect, you should steer clear of him ladies He is not a man of God Ecclesiasticus 25:21 “Stumble not at the beauty of a woman, and desire her not for pleasure.” In the manner of women, don't stumble at the beauty of a man, and don't desire a man for only pleasure!

I don’t know how things can be fixed. What would we need to have the divorce rates drop but also the cohabitation rates drop. What would we need to have young people marry young like they used to? We need a third grade awakening. I return to Christian values. But I just don’t see that happening unless something cataclysmic happens

I get your points about the messed up dating scene nowadays. But I disagree to blame men for that. “The quality men”…. The issue is both ways. Boys end up resourcing to porn just as well as girls are resourcing to attention seeking online. Boys are being crushed to be real men, and girls are becoming unable to bond to any men given the promiscuity (physical or emotional) they live in their dating lives. Not ever one side is responsible for an issue !

The problem is systemic. Central Bank monetary policies since the 1970s have enabled the devaluing of Men's natural role as Providers as well as the degrading of Marriage and Family as the basic economic & societal units. Young women are told to prioritize entering the govt / corporate workforce en masse and to postpone marriage & motherhood indefinitely. Unwise endless money printing by the Fed thanks to the "Oil for Petrodollars" system helped enable this. A hugely overinflated housing market also doesn't help. A great financial reckoning decades in the making is nearly upon us and with it hopefully a return to the natural complimentary relationships between men and women.

I like the socially aware approach here. I think Catholic women are hard to find for men who are willing to marry. I even feel that while most of us set foot in the snares explained here as men of the Church there are still fewer that can not only repent of personal sins but be down-to-earth enough to examine our societal landscape for the “fixings” of a world that we are easily detached from entirely, let alone worried about our calling enough to learn about and re-socialize. The beginning is right now, men, and there are women who need are of want of us. But remember that nothing we do can speak as loud and as clearly as our deeds. Work together if in spirit the demands of a faithful life and believe in the courage to remain in chastity in case the time comes for us to meet one presented to us along our way!

Being a very senior man myself I do not wish to denigrate my fellow younger men but truly young men do not know how to talk to women these days. I’m old and hearing impaired but young women approach me all the time to talk. It took a while for me to work this out. Surely young men would be more to their taste? Why do young female shop assistants wave to me when I walk (shuffle) by? And not to young men? The answer? I’m generally polite !! I always (try) remember their names and address them by their names. I keep conversation brief but cheerful. I always answer their questions? I’m always polite to serving staff and tell them I appreciate their help, etc. Anyway, I’ve noticed young men generally just don’t do this. And they don’t practice anything resembling charm on middle-aged to older women, whereas many young women practice basic social skills on older men !! Possibly without even realising it.

I've noticed most young men today are socially blunted, especially in their interactions with women. I had that problem, and since taking great strides to overcome it, the young women I've interacted with (outside of retail workers) tend to be either quite shy or pleasantly surprised when I do strike up a conversation with them, clearly not expecting it from a younger guy.

Entertaining the digital world of lust in a relationship really destructs emotional and spiritual connection and intimacy of a couple. Modern generation may find it boring without pornography and hookup culture, but think of the consequences in the long term. It's hard to be an old soul now a days, they said. But embracing the old soul personality leads to genuine happiness and not temporary pleasure.

Work on yourselves, and go to FSSP young adult groups... go to confession and pray the Rosary daily. Men have the power to choose women they want to marry.... we women choose who to have sex with, but can't have sex if no man wants to marry you. If a woman shows interest, ask her on a date, if not, then we're not gonna get anywhere.

I'm no leftist who's gonna bitch about priviledge and equslity but the fact of the matter is white men have am advantage with women. Most women perfer white men, tall men, men with big dicks, more money. They wait at the finish line and pick the best. Nothing victimhood about facing a brutal reality. The ones who can continue to delude themselves are men who have not yet been severly burned by the game.

Lots will say they just "Want a man who prays the Rosary.", and sadly, the men who do fit that criteria don't realize they're invisible because they don't fit the superficial criteria you outlined. If this weren't the case, then these women wouldn't be marrying outside the Church in such high rates.

@@FortisEquus False. No woman "just wants a man who prays the Rosary." You live in a fantasy world. No woman has, or should, make a statement like that! You certainly have a chip on your should against women! Catholic women marry outside the Church because many Catholic young men are drunkards, drug abusers, domestic abusers, egotistical, irresponsible, selfish, gamblers, pornography users or criminals. And for the Mathematical reason that a percentage of Catholic men marry outside the Church. You clearly have resentments against women!

I'd like to say it gets better in your 20s, but it doesn't. 😞 Take the next decade to focus on your work, your passions and your relationship with God, while still being involved in your community and making social connections. Take those necessary steps towards building yourself up as a proper Catholic man, with a good and fulfilling life irrespective of whether a woman's part of it, and you may meet a suitable woman yet. In my experience, the Novus Ordo tends to be devoid of single women, and the few I have met are typically single for good reason, so I'd advise going to TLMs at least once in a while to see if there are any faithful single women there.

What about the women in this dating apps, and virtual dating marketplace? The reality is that today the women control the dating marketplace, not the men. Women nowadays, tradcath or not, are in contact with multiple men online, even when they are in contact to a real guy. Invariably women end up opting for playing the field and at the end not only guys get ghosted, as the women end up alone and frustrated !!

Newsflash: women aren’t even on the apps, that’s why the guys don’t get any matches. Not because all women are narcs with unrealistic standards. Many of the female profiles you seethe at are just bots created by the dating app companies.

I have been a lifelong Catholic of Generation X and graduated from Notre Dame. I am also a brown Apache Indian. In my younger years, there most definitely was a subtle type of racism (or sometimes blatant) where Catholic women preferred white men. I experienced racism in subtle ways or sometimes harsh ways. One of the most disappointing was as a freshman when I went to meet my date at her dorm at a major Catholic University (ND). As I was waiting, I could hear the vitriolic, racist comments of the white Catholic women inside before my date arrived. There was a 1990s film that showed a racist Catholic teen girl - "Laura" in "The Craft". Their behavior reminded me of that character. After that, I stopped dating on that campus until late in my senior year. Going into my mid 20s, I experienced rejection. I made a last series of attempts as I got older into my 30s - each led to rejection. Meanwhile, the women who ironically wanted to date me the most were usually white Southern Protestant females. Go figure. After all the rejection from Catholic women over many years, I only found dating success with southern white women. I had a blonde southern belle as a girlfriend from Florida State U. I met her at the gym. It really has been a bizarre experience. Whereas I experienced racism or rejection from Catholic females, one of the nicest women in my class at FSU was an Anglican woman from a white southern sorority. To be fair, now that I am older, I went back to an online masters program at St. Mary's College remotely. SMC is part of the ND campus. The modern young Catholic women I met in online courses are definitely not racist like some of those Catholic women from my extreme youth (late 1980s to 1990s). So, my comments are specific to a generation of Catholics that had been actively dating in the young adult realm decades ago. From a religious perspective, I am very glad now that those dating scenarios did not work out. If I had a Catholic wife and family, the COVID-19 pandemic most likely would have been too much stress. I am a biomedical engineer with an MPH. I know too much about pandemic statistics and it would have broken me if I had a wife and children. Either that or the recession of 2008-2010 could have ended a marriage. Since I am religious, I do know there is karma. One of the Catholic women who dumped me for another guy wound up divorced years later. She is now almost 50 and lost the extreme beauty of her youth with single motherhood status. The days of dumping young men left-and-right with hypergamy are now over. Many of those "unapproachable" Catholic women who were rude or elitist have aged with gray hair, wrinkles, etc. A Catholic priest had said to my theology class at ND that we would all someday get old. His point was that the elitism of some (not all) youth based on appearance doesn't last. He was right.

@@5MinuteCatholicApologetics I must point out that the comments above are in the context of the 1980s and 1990s at my undergraduate Catholic college and subsequent experiences of Catholic dating in Florida in the early 2000s. By contrast, last weekend I went back to Notre Dame and graduated with a master's degree I had earned online at St. Mary's College for data science. In the 90s, SMC had been all female. But by about 2016 the graduate programs went coed. The school is still mostly female though. I marched with cap and gown with the mostly young female students. The modern, young Catholic females of 2023 are very polite and welcoming. I had a great experience in meeting the new generation of students at SMC. The valedictorian's speech was awesome. So, the modern experience of graduating at SMC helped counter the negative experiences with racism decades ago at ND. The commencement was awesome. SMC has a great community of young students who are progressive and very devout as Catholics. Now that I am back in AZ, I miss the ND/SMC campus and the people. Times have changed compared to the racial tension I had experienced in the late 80s and early 90s.

Ehh... dating sites encourage men and women alike to form checklists and effectively objectify the opposite sex. Not to mention the terrible disparity of there being several men for each woman, and the woman being inclined to choose or reject a suitor based on superficial characteristics ("His eyes look funny.") rather than content of his character (which a dating profile doesn't effectively convey) thanks to her being flooded with options. Spend enough time on dating apps and you're left with lots of dejected men and narcissistic women. What we really need is in-person Catholic communities again, giving men and women opportunities to meet face-to-face and get to know each other without the anonymity and superficiality the Internet fosters. At present, those opportunities are far and few between.

Yes, divorces have encouraged rapid whoredom and the bible states Leviticus 19:29 “Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.” Marriage is a seperate union, where 2 people become 1 in the spirit. We are in the last days, so the wicked will love to destroy this not because they can, but because God has written it from the beginning to be so! Because God can! The only way to avoid it is to fear, reverance, respect, honour, follow, pay attention to, know, and obey God. This divorce shyt has only been rampant the last 50 years! In the 1950s it was disgraceful in american society to be a single mother. Times have changed because we are in the last days

No-fault divorce laws have also made civil marriage a major liability for men. It’s basically a way to potentially loose half your stuff plus be moreso on the hook for alimony. Of course that’s a very base and somewhat cynical view of marriage, and we as Catholics should have a much greater understanding and paradigm of it. But that legal/ financial aspect does undergird how many in the wider society view it.
@francikeen
@francikeen Жыл бұрын
@@jefffinkbonner9551 MEN designed, promoted and passed No-Fault Divorce Laws, starting in CA in 1969, BEFORE there were many women lawyers, legislators or governors. Then the predominately male American Bar Association promoted No-Fault Divorce to all 50 states. *No-Fault Divorce covers-up for the spouse who violates the marriage contract with the common male vices like: drunkenness, drug abuse, domestic abuse, neglect, gambling, pornography, adultery and criminality.* Prior to 1969, either spouse had to cite a grave fault to even submit a divorce petition. Statistically, after divorce, the average ex-husband has a higher standard of living and the ex-wife has a lower standard of living. So marriage is a huge risk for women. But you only care about yourself and men. That is what is wrong with American men. The modern American man loves men and despises women, like you do. You only care about men to the point of lying. Marital property is divided 50/50. *Most wives work outside the home,* so she also paid for that property you *falsely* claim is his. Men are so greedy, they even lie to play victim. You are also lying about alimony. Alimony is rare and temporary. And it is only paid, for a few years, and in the few cases where the ex-husband's income is dramatically higher than the ex-wife's income: dramatically, not slightly. And palimony laws apply to ex-wives, whose income is dramatically higher than her ex-husband's. Examples include Sandra Bullock, who was forced to pay palimony., even though her husband was having an affair. Same with Kelly Clarkson. But you continue to dishonestly play your male VICTIM CARD. Men pushed No-Fault Divorce. Yet men blame women for divorce... even when the husband provokes the divorce with anti-social behavior. And Catholic divorce rates are only 2 percentage points lower than Protestant divorce rates. (43% Catholic divorce rate and 45% Protestant divorce rate) So Catholic men are just as selfish as Protestant men. You are a good example of that.
