Excellent advice, David. Fortunately I am conscientious, consistent in performing my exercises and my physiotherapist graduated from the school in Barcelona. Thank you for your channel and all your videos. They are enormously helpful. I am 65 years old and have a thoracic lumbar scoliosis of 35 degrees. Best regards from Spain.

30 minutes 5 days a week would be doable. I had 12-weeks of Schroth with a PT trained in Schroth. Then it ended and it has been so difficult to stay consistent. The exercises take more than 30 minutes too. Hoping your videos will begin to get me back on the right track.

I would set the time at 30 min and don't try to do them all in that time. Go slow and really think about the steps in the exercise. Then rotate through on different days.

Hey Dave. Excellent video! I have a question for you. Are kettlebells good for mild to moderate scoliosis? Deadlift, goblet squat, swings done w good form. your thoughts?
@AlignTherapyUtah9 ай бұрын
I think they can be, but it depends how your form is and what compensations we see when doing them. I use them for a lot of my patients. Are you working with someone for scoliosis exercises?

How does one know if the scoliosis if fixed as in it can’t move? I believe this is called structural scoliosis? What does one do if the primary curve has become fixated? I have lost my thoracic curve and as a result I have a reversed lumbar curve and a hump forming at my neck at T1. How is fixation tested can I do this from home. Desperate to get better! Thank you

Not sure what you mean by fixated? There should be movement in the spine but it might be stiffer. Structural is different than that. It is just saying what is causing the scoliosis.

@@AlignTherapyUtah thank you for your answer. Are there ever cases where the curvature is stuck and can’t move? Im trying to figure out if doing schroth might be a waste of time for me.

@@mattinfinity1623 I have seen really stiff spines. Not really stuck. I would check in with someone to see.

How does one tell if ones scoliosis is structural or not?
@AlignTherapyUtah9 ай бұрын
The best way is to do an x-ray and then do a physical examination of the spine by someone trained in scoliosis treatment. We would be looking for leg length differences and if you have rotation of the spine or not. Most of the time, scoliosis is structural, but I would get it looked at. Does that help?
