So in short 1. When your planning to shoot , look at the basket as soon as you get the ball (start looking early) 2. Look through your eyebrows ( don't tilt your head) 3. Don't pull the ball towards your body to Inc strength rather keep it a little away from your body Anything extra , do suggest what I missed

@bergadurg9426 жыл бұрын
Airballing is fine, as long as you're not doing it too often or during normal games. You just have to learn to shoot with your legs to be more accurate. The more strength you put into a shot, the more likely it will be off. Momentum is important, so you have to find a point where you both have enough momentum and enough accuracy to consistently make shots.

I used to have the basic elbows in with both feet pointing at the basket form.(this is what my coach taught me) because i had a tilt in my feet and my elbow sticking out a bit. I tried to shoot like what my coach had taught me and I couldn't make any of my shots that season. Now I have a different coach that lets me shoot however the way I like to shoot and as long as I can consistently make them i can keep shooting. My form isn't the best looking but it works for me and is more consistent then trying to shoot both feet squared and elbows exactly towards the basket. Using my new form I can now shoot and make three pointers unlike last yr when I couldn't make a three. Now my teamates and coaches are confident in me taking shots even as far as the half court logo

Hey coach I have a very weird and unusual problem. I try to keep shooting the ball in the air at my home because I have no rims but at least I can develop muscle memory. When I shoot the ball in the air it's a perfect shot, al the fundamentals are right and I feel so much comfortable. When I hit the court, I swear to god I forget everything and my shot changes completely to a very ugly and wrong shot and I try to shoot like I shoot in the air but I swear whenever I see the rim it's like my memory is erased and my shot is so broke. It's so frustrating and I can't fix my shot

one thing i realized recently is that you need to know your form. i cannot stress this enough. know what you do when you shoot and every aspect of it. because when you're cold, you're doing something you don't normally do and if you don't know what it is, it'll be hard to get out of the slump and maybe you'll end up making whatever you're not doing correctly a habit.
@mmd77737 жыл бұрын

I think this is good advice taking a spot-up three but IMO, when the three's stop falling you must perfect a mid-range shot, i.e., a pull-up jumper or a turn-around jumper, first. In these shots, you can't stare at the basket. You only have a fraction of a second before you shoot and many times you have to shoot the ball above your head. Also, in a last second desperation shot, you also can't shoot with perfect form. You must improvise, i.e., shoot from any position while fading left or right, front or back. These tips allow you to be a great screen shooter but not a great scorer and you cannot be your team's primary scorer.

Hi Coach, I've been a subscriber since almost a year and I never miss any of your videos here on YT! Besides of being grateful for reading my comment, I'd be even more grateful if you could help me with a little advice about my shooting form: As you have taught us, tilting our feet is very important in order to get the elbow inside and below the basketball to avoid side misses. I'm lefty, I tilt my feet and I've tried to imitate Curry's shooting form (changing what needs to be changed from a lefty perspective), but I'm still often having issues with my shot that lacks of arc and my unwanted pinky and ring finger release. May you give me some advice please? I know that you don't teach "the perfect form", but to me Curry's form looks so easy and successful to not pretend to imitate it! Thank you and keep it up with the great work!

I need help. I feel like I have good enough handles and a good enough shot to succeed, but my middle school coach is holding back my talent. He ALWAYS has to be angry and yelling. I'm 4'11 and I find a wide open hole inside, and then my coach shouts at me telling me to get open outside. When I go outside, he tells me that I'm too close to my teammate. If I go into a triple threat, he shouts at me and tells me to get moving and start dribbling. Then, he'll tell me that I'm dribbling to much when I'm just trying to get open. When I pick the ball up and pass to a teammate, he tells me don't pick up the ball. I can never showcase my true talent if he's always intimidating me and he never tells me how I can adjust to his play style. If I do something wrong he thinks that I'm not listening or not paying attention. And that can cost me playing time or a spot on the team. Does anyone have any advice?
@wavyykev89287 жыл бұрын
GangstaPenguin yo lil bro i know what you mean, some coaches are just like that man. Some advice is play your game until he takes you out. Forget what anyone is saying to you, you gotta block out all the noise, when you get the ball or when you are on the court do what is the best for THE TEAM at the moment. If that means making the right pass taking the open jumper or driving to the rack just do it. Forget what everyone else is saying
@wavyykev89287 жыл бұрын

Tell him, like when he tells you you dribble too much tell him you said it first but respect him and if you are confident you can score in the paint and he suddenly shouts GET OPEN OUTSIIIDE just finish this play cause it is too late anyway to get back outside you will try to get open outside next time and stick to the gameplan of your team, if the gameplan is small ball don't go inside alone then. And if you worry about your gametime focus on practice and show him you have good work ethic that always work

okay I need actual help here. Im not one of the kids who "OH IM GONNA PLAY IN THE NBA IM GONNA DO IT AND IM THE BEST" So please dont try to 1 up me and say WELL IM BETTER THAN YOU AND I HAVE A BETTER CHANCE AT GOING PRO. I want to talk athlete to athlete. I dont know why its so hard without pissing someone off. Basketball is literally all I have. I need some advice about my shot. I shoot some days 10/10 from 3. Moving shots I do kyrie leg swing so I dont move when "fading". Then a week later there is just SOMETHING about balance idk what it is, but its my balance I cant like... control the ball or control my arms I miss left and it feels retarded. It comes off flat and just if there was something I could explain it with it would be the word retarded cuz it dont feel like im shooting. It feels like Im pushing and it slips off my hand weird. I shoot from the mid region of my face. Im not gonna pull the ball to the side of my head. I need help. Its a 1 motion and all and there are 3 people I watch shoot that help me. Kyrie, KD, and Damian Lillard. The shot is a big problem. I have the best handles out of anyone I know. I cant be good at dribbling but horrible at shooting. I cant score 20-30 points anymore without my shot. Oh also my arm hits my face... it didnt used to.

I can send video if you can help... or just send me a video of how to help with gripping the ball when in midair.
@wavemanghee42527 жыл бұрын
BMike TN3 your suppose to grip the ball in mid air?
@mike58617 жыл бұрын
Well your supposed to have control how you grip it so you can shoot straight. Have you ever seen a guy playing who jumps up but the ball moves all over in midair? he looses control and creates bad mechanics...

BMike TN3 How about a unorthodox idea you've never thought of? Try subliminals they work for me especially hypnodaddy. You just have to believe and be consistent on listening to his "improve basketball skills subliminal". Try it out bro you'll be amazed i was hitting so much shots just listening for 3 days. My 3 pointer went from 20% to 30% in just 3 days or don't listen i dont really care what you do just telling you that it works :)
