How to never lose the basketball: 1. Do not slap the basketball. Utilize the pads on your fingers to push the ball resulting in a high ball in hand time. Try not to allow your palm to touch the ball. Utilizing the pads on your fingers will allow you to get a better grip of the ball. 2. When dribbling, bend your knees so you have a higher ball in hand time and give you more control of the ball. This will only work in a stagnant position not when running. 3. When dribbling on the run, flick your risk down so that the ball stays with you while running. 4. When running and dribbling, keep the ball to the side of you or behind you to avoid hitting your feet. 5. When beginning, look down to see the basketball and when you improve look up. BONUS: Practice like crazy to get better.

I am coaching bb for the first time. I was a decent HS player but sometimes it’s hard to explain to my middle school girls how to do things that come naturally to me. Thanks for breaking down the dribble, this gave me some different ways to help my players. I will definitely be showing my girls this video, too.

This vídeo is just amazing !! I'm 57 yrs. old , 6' 2 and I never was able to drlble not even fifteen feet , because since I was very young I was always " needed " close to the rim for rebounds and therefore never developed the dribbling skills . Now I now how it's done after so many years !! Thanks a lot , it's never late to learn . Hi from Puerto Rico . Thanks !!

Whenever a team mate passed me the ball , I used to "slap" the ball and could not advance !! The flicking of the wrist ... Everything, all the tips . I'm planning to go to the same basketball court I used to play when I was a teenager ,at a time when I can have it all to myself and pretend my "friends" are there with me, playing, but this time I , the one that didn't know how to dribble is going to dribble from one end to the other and "they" will all "watch me" DO IT !! Thank You , you have made such a difference in my life !!

One thing that REALLY made my dribbling insanely batter is making sure my thumb is gripping the ball in a sense (spreading fingers more on the ball so thumb can stop the ball) . Once I focused on using my thumb to also catch the ball on crossovers it made my crossover easier to control and faster!

Thanks for this tutorial, I think it will really help me in the future bro, college basketball came to me unexpected as hell. I didn't even make the team and next thing you know December hits, Coach tells me to come to practice and now I'm on his roster (and yes basketball is my goal)...and I'm trying to get used to this because I'm almost becoming turnover prone and I can't have that. I thought I had handles until I saw my teammates and everybody I played against handling the ball😂, now all I need to do is work on my coordination because I look uncoordinated asf on the court...

@@NotSandhorst Well I don’t hoop anymore because the new college I went to didn’t have tryouts and COVID made me unmotivated to play basketball. But I’m still doing good though, I found something else I like. But for good coordination? You have to stretch and keep practicing your handles and driving to the basket. Also record yourself and watch footage of other basketball players. But most importantly, stretch. You need flexibility to be able to do more with your body. Like when you wake up in the morning, static stretch for like 5 minutes. Before you hoop, do some dynamic stretching. After you hoop, static stretch. Before you go to sleep, stretch for 5 minutes or even 10 minutes. You should look up some static stretching routine videos, they’ll help as well. Feels good as well, at least for me it felt good static stretching for 15 minutes before I go to sleep lmao but yea
