For more than twenty years I basically turn into a cookie factory at Christmas time. That is what I give as gifts to everyone. Most often I freeze the dough already scooped into cookies but I don’t bake them until a few days before Christmas. Also, I give a small plate of baked cookies but I also give folks the cookie dough so they can bake them off when needed. A lot of folks like this so they can have fresh baked cookies for New Years Eve or other gatherings. I usually make mostly standard cookies like chocolate chip, peanut butter with kiss or cups, and oatmeal but two special ones I make only at Christmas are white chocolate macadamia nut and Nutella cookies.
@sherrizanoli13982 жыл бұрын
I do the same thing, only I go ahead and scoop out the cookie dough, freeze it on a cookie sheet and then bag it in a ziplock bag with the instruction on the outside. Pull them out and bake as needed. I also gift most of them, but I do candy also. People request my peanut butter fudge yearly.

Hi Amy. I found that preparing all cookie dough ahead of time makes baking easier. I make a little at a time freeze it than when I start baking I take it all out let it thaw and go HAM!

Everything looks delicious. Back when I use to make crepes. I had a recipe that had club soda in the crepe recipe. Made the best crepes. I'd make a filling for them of farmers cheese, confectionary sugar and a tad of lemon juice, blend and Viola, some French crepes in your kitchen. I also just rolled them and put chocolate syrup and home made whip cream on top. You can use Reddi whip if you don't want to make homade whip cream.

I make “crepes” as noodles for my homemade manicotti (no sugar of course). I keep a paper towel with a little oil next to the stove and “mop” the pan in between each crepe. When top looks dry, I just slide it out of the pan. No need to flip since I fill them and roll them up. Hugs💕

The secret to perfect crepes is to not have the pan too hot and use less batter. An ice cream scoop of batter would be perfect for that pan. As soon as the batter hits the pan, swirl the batter around to just barely cover the bottom. Once the top starts to look a little dry, flip it for 30 second and then flip the pan upside down over a plate and the crepe will flip right onto the pan. We smear a little butter and jam on the crepe and then roll it up. Cinnamon sugar is also great. I did notice that your batter is a heavier recipe with the butter milk. Try regular milk one time to see if you notice the difference.

My favorite are those wedding cookies or Russian tea cakes. So easy to make, no mixer needed & can crowd up the cookie sheet since they don't spread. It's just butter, flour, powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, & chopped pecans. I'll be making these next week. My boys insist on them every Christmas now. 🎄🎄👍❤😋

I used to do cut out cookies to decorate every year, however, as my kids have gotten older they don't always want to. Just entering into a different season of life. My kids really like chocolate covered pretzels too, again, a labor of love that only gets done once a year around Christmas! Everything looked delicious Amy, have a wonderful day! I like creps. Yes, is a crep pan. I am not a cooker pro either. My favorite is from my childhood. After my mom died 30 years ago I lost the recipe. It's a cream cheese dough. Roll out. Cut into circles (floured cup works great). Drop 1 tesp of jam or jelly into the center or just to 1 side. Fold in half. Seal using floured fork. Bake. Misd them. They were so tasty. She only made them @ Christmas time.

Good morning. We used to make whoopie pies all year long growing up. It was one of the family expectations you would be bringing them to a food event. Clean your fluff for the moon pies on the porch was a great idea . That was one of the things I missed the most about not having a cold porch and when I lived in Florida. Where was warm most of the time and now that I've moved back to the Northeast I live in apartment without a balcony or porch to put things out to cool. That was always a great thing during the winter you could make your cookies, candy , pies and rock candy and such could put them out in the porch and let it cool off. You wouldn't have to worry about keeping items in the refrigerator because it was as cold if not freezing on the porch. I hope that you had lots of fun in your weekend activities. And I hope you have a tremendous today. And I'll see you tomorrow

My parents store the vegetables outside, sometimes the soup when they have no room in the fridge over Xmas and new year. Always a lot of food rammed 8n there. Storing cold drinks outside is also good, especially when the weather is what it has been this last week, we are at 0 degrees in Scotland where we are atm.

My family loves the Ritz cracker cookies. You take a plain Ritz cracker (I try to find the snowflake ones), slap a hearty amount of pb on top,place another cracker on top then dip in white almond bark. Then put sprinkles on top. Soooo good. Also, Amy I don't use vegetable or canola oil either. I substitute it with avocado oil. Some things we just don't want the coconut flavor. But you don't taste avocado. It actually brings out the flavors you are using

It looks like a good crepes pan, its similar to our pancake pans in Iceland, pur pancaked are thin amd very like crepes in away so yeah. Im not gonna be making many cookie this year but me and my boys are gonna go for some chocolate candy, like nougat,marsipan, nuts,raisins and so on. Im more of a savory person, my fav seriously quick appetisers recipe is what my nan called election party balla, one of the first thing I made when still little. 1 pound ground beef 1 pack ritz crackers (,,crumbled) 1 pk leeksoup powder. Mix make little balls and bake for 12-,15 min on 380-400 degrees. I serve it with the easiest sauce in the world 1/2 jar redcurrant jelly 1-2 tbs heinz chili sauce Heat together until combined. But thanks for your videos and att yhe inspiration and of course all the food 😉🥰 Hope your holidays will be great. With love from Iceland 🇮🇸🤣✌️

Crepes are very thin. They should be golden and speckled on the second side to. Put oil or melted butter in the batter, then it doesn't stick as badly and you only have to grease the pan every 5 or so crepes if even that. We just stack them on a plate under a layer of tin foil to keep it warm. Should you by some miracle have leftovers the roll them up and freeze them.

I found this out the hard way, making my famous brownies; we had to throw the entire batch out, as the shortening was rancid, which I didn't realize until after they were baked, they were horrible.
