How good a marching rhythm is The Glendaurel Highlanders ! Expertly played by the legendary 'Black Watch' pipers. Superb homecoming scenes in the market town of Dunfermline. This fabled regiment saw action in campaigns such as WWI (Flanders) and the D-Day landings. We are privileged to have such dedicated service men & women.

Ever since I was a kid, I'm 62, I always loved the pipe and drum bands! I was always especially impressed by the tenor drummer twirling and spinning his sticks as he strikes the drumhead! VERY IMPRESSIVE! Andy not Annmarie!

My Scotch/English ancestors came to America in 1622. The first time I saw/heard bagpipes, I was 7 or 8. I thought my heart would explode when I first heard the pipers come down the street at our Fourth of July parade. My eyes were hot with tears I couldn’t control. My heart belongs to Scotland!🇺🇸🏴

Here in the States many of our young people consider the military something to be ashamed of. Parades and any outward sign of respect is discouraged. When our troops come home they are simply placed on civilian transports and sent home. Any ceremony takes place at home station usually out of sight.
@alexion20015 жыл бұрын
That's because the USA was founded on the principles of civil liberty while most European nations like the UK have very deep military traditions and it would be considered extremely wrong to abandon them. It's just the concept of going to parades with your family while growing up which later makes you proud of your military.
@Bruintjebeer65 жыл бұрын
In the Netherlands we still have parades and Veterans Day. I live near an marine base and they organize a lot. But they are not allowed to travel in uniform anymore because if they do they will be an open target for terrorist attacks. It is an shame that it has come so far.
