Thank you! It's funny (not really) that I have gone through most of my life flying by the seat of my pants. Although I've never been diagnosed with adhd, I've wondered. I love being around and listening to planners...because even at my age (I just turned 70 last week), I love learning. I enjoy your videos so much.

@evelynbrown5978…. Thank you so much. You have really made my day. So many people I know ask me ‘Why do you bother?’ and I usually reply ‘It’s never too late to learn something new’….The usual response is “AT YOUR AGE”?………LIke you Evelyn….I too am 70. I find that both Jennifer and her friend Nikki, a fabulous wealth of ideas. You carry on enjoying and listening in the knowledge that somewhere in the UK is another lady thinking of you, and raising her cup of tea with a huge THANK YOU ❤🙏💐xx

One of my favorite things in life is to use a tray. Even when I had little children at home I made it apart of my day to enjoy a breakfast tray outside, or a tea tray with pretty dishes & a good book infront of the fireplace. I sometime too a herbal tea to bed with me to help wind down. This is part of my life that for some seems silly, or extra work. But it often becomes my adventure when there is little time or resources for more. So ladies give this one a try. How about glass of wine, small candle and sit out under the stars Plan it.❤

A few weeks ago I had a lot of laundry to wash, fold and put away. So I had a Laundry and Reading Marathon. I would work on laundry for 30 minutes and then I would read for 30 minutes. While I was doing the laundry I listened to an audio book. I combined something I don't enjoy with something I adore!! 📚

Thank you for this important reminder! I am 56, married, half time working in an office, making the whole home clean, make our garden and I have rheumatism. Time for me? None! But I feel that I am burning out more and more. I have to stop this unhealthy way. I will try your planning tipps.

My top planning ritual is my weekly menu with attached grocery list. Our daughter created a beautiful menu/grocery list design personalized for where I shop and it matches my recipe binder she designed. Feeding 8-10 people 21 meals, snacks and desserts a week requires planning and a lot of refrigerator/freezer space. Running to the store daily is not an option nor is eating out/ordering in here. Oh Jennifer, I love it! ❤ I was in an opera once and my character had a duet which I sang again and again, "Every day, a new adventure! That is what you ought to do! Like for me, every hour is golden, so for me, every hour is new!" As I'm sure you recall, us performers love to keep a momento from the show, a prop or something. I've always gone further and found a way to keep that character or experience close, and it's usually a line from it. Anyways, for over a decade that has been my motto! Even the most mundane event may be my daily adventure. Maybe not quite the same idea as you, but similar.

I have had a Brain dump notebook for years which has been a life-saver. Not only it helped me to remember appointments, work to be done but also my brain dumb notebook helped me look forward to the fun/adventure plans I have also added to the day. I never called my plans "an adventure" but I guess I unconsciously looked at some of the activities as fun. Thanks for renaming my fun times as an adventure.

I have been writing a letter to you in my mind throughout these last few weeks, telling you of my struggle to time block! I write my to do’s down - and then still keep them in my head! So I don’t go to my planner as I know what needs to be done, and I don’t have the gratification of checking them off! Thank you, Jennifer, for this video; I will try to incorporate your points and see where I get!

These are really great points. Having some way to make note of ideas, appointments, and upcoming events is so important. My husband and I use a combination of an app called Trello and shared calendars in our phones. We can both put information in, and then both of us can see it. Thank you for promoting taking care of yourself. It is not selfish to factor our well being into our daily lives! -Michelle

An older lady I admire very much told us how when her children were young, she would purposefully nurse the baby during lunch time or right after and make sure all the children had a nap or quiet time at the same time. That was her specific time each day for Bible study or reading spiritual/meaningful books. “Personal self care” looks different for everyone, but I’ve observed the high value of not neglecting important things. My point being, it is not always pure selfishness.

@@TheDailyConnoisseur 🤔 I used that strong word because I’ve observed the culture of the wealthy suburb I live in and I do see some mothers who I think take it to an extreme. I’ve watched how it affects their children… versus my mother and other godly examples I’ve had the privilege of knowing, who do it in a virtuous, healthy way in such as taking walks or quilting… :) The only conclusion I have is that human nature tends to be unbalanced. I appreciate WHO you were sharing this message for. :) I know my life has benefitted from relaxing more and enjoying little pleasures.

I just love to listen to your calming voice. The idea of a daily adventure sounds stressful to me. As an extreme introvert, i associate adventure with being out of the house and around other people. I would need several days of down time before and after what would qualify as an adventure for me. But i think i get your meaning. That word resonates with you. "Highlight" would probably be mine. But the idea of planning every little thing down in a planner and then having to constantly refer to the planner likewise sounds stressful. I use mine for homeschooling, chores, and outings/social engagementa. I've tried planning personal development activities but by the end of the day i want to relax. It's much easier for me to implement a single activity at a time into my habits, and once i no longer have to think about it to do it, i can add another such activity. But looking at a planner Chock full of things, even if it's things i technically want to do, turns then into chores i now have to do. To each their own though. Love your channel anyway 😊

You are absolutely right. Those of us who are single moms have to balance both roles. It's exhausting. I did it. However, I lost that part of me who loved being feminine. At 52, I am getting that back. I am using Duolingo for Russian. I have always been intrigued by Russia's White Nights and the Northern Lights and, of course, Nutcracker Ballet.

Planning a daily adventure is brilliant! I need to start doing that. You should look into scripting when it comes to prioritizing self-care. I learned about the scripting method of planning from Jenny Penton of Planner Perfect. Scripting is a way of planning that isn't just a list of obligations, but incorporating fun and some of your other goals into your days.
