These lessons just go to show that snooker is so much more than just getting the angles right. And Ben is doing a great job here for a non-pro

Beginners always think they miss shots because they arent picking out the right angle, when in reality they just can't cue straight.
@ernoeskeli1139 Жыл бұрын
@@jensclarberg6419 Yeah exactly, just set up straight shots and you can't be blaming your "angle recognition" if you keep missing them constantly. Also putting the cue on the correct line is one thing other than just delivering the cue properly

I did think that. The second pink he missed into the middle was almost a golf swing; but I'm no better.

Without question the best snooker channel out there. Did notice when playing the blue to smash the pack open, Ben ‘steers’ the cue when he hits it. Watch the butt end flick out to the left.

Here's my little tip for cushion shots for what it's worth: Like Stephen said keep the cue as parallel to the table as possible, you may even feel the tip drag slightly on the baize (mine always does) I feel this helps keep the tip on centre of the cueball and not put unwanted side on. Stephen also mentioned earlier in the video about the pause in the cue action before striking the cue ball. This to me is when it can help massively (when on cushion shots) as your taking your last feather.....pause, then use the time in the pause to look at the object ball and hit it online. This really works and once you get the nak of it you won't go back to doing what you did before learning this little tip. If your dead straight to middle and on the cushion focus on keeping the head still, pause.....then most importantly focus on delivering the cue as straight as possible (as if your cueing your cue through both balls and into the centre of the pocket. This really really helps with straight shots, especially to the middle. Hope that helps somebody for what it's worth. Enjoy🙂🎱

Forget main stream media!!!! They will soon find something to moan about...can't do this, can't say that etc etc, that's what's wrong with the world today! Keep it as is....organic as possible. This in my humble opinion is why so many people are commenting that they are enjoying the content so much! IT'S MORE "REAL" 😉

For shots close to the cushion I’ve found putting extra attention on looking at the cue ball helps to get no side on the cue ball also the shots to the middle if you don’t think it’s going in, it’s not, never play a shot with doubts in your head it’ll never go in
@MoiFidodido1966 Жыл бұрын
Here's my personal tip, which actually applies not only to cue ball on cushion as well as pink ball potting, but at pretty much all shots: Chin must remain on the cue from the moment you're going down on the shot until object ball gets to pocket. Not only it guarantees that head remains still, but also it's an additional point of contact for the cue, which helps with straight cueing!

Hendry saying those pockets are quite forgiving... Then immediately after he says how they're very close to professional tournament standard... Yeah, those look tight AF mate. I've never seen pockets that tight outside of tournament tables anywhere, and at a glance on camera, they look no more generous than the tournament ones anyway, so the difference must be minuscule. Hendry is just so used to the pro tables he considers those forgiving. Wow.

Hendry can still be a top player if it practiced a little I don't know why he doesn't just play in events and stop waisting the tour card.
@taff6987 Жыл бұрын
I honestly think he's dying to make a serious comeback at the sport but knows to be anywhere near half his best he'd have to practise at least 4-6hrs a day! AT LEAST! I personally think he knows he can't put in the hours on a daily basis or he would. He's also making good money working for the snooker crew, commentating and such and knows he couldn't do both if he was to take it seriously! I think its eating him up inside because it does seem like he really does want to make a comeback. Just get that feeling from him?🤔would be great to see him give it a real crack to be fair.

@@taff6987 Would be great to Stephen back ,but even if he put the work in are the problems that forced his early retirement still there ,this games hard enough to play without self doubt being in the back of your mind .Great Channel though .

Hendry's conceit is mind boggling..Was happy beating a slightly above average pissed out bottler Jimmy.and over the hill Davis! Never beat a great player in world finals but rather lost to players like Ken & Ebdon in world finals lmao What’s funnier Is hendry was effectively finished as an elite player in his early thirties.The piss poor era great! 👎👎

Impeded by a 'plant' no pun intended lol 2:38 on the rest shot tip too far away from cue ball, come on Stephen! On slow mo replay you can see he hit the pink slightly on left side looking at it from below, still good!
