i have a suggestion. I mad something like that and i realized that to make the robot go faster you have to put something on the end of the motor to make it off balance. this will create more vibration and make the bug move faster. you should also try stroking the bristles in one direction so they aim one way. this will make it go in one direction. good job!

To make these types of bristle-bots work better, you need to bend the bristles in the direction of forward travel. You can put something REALLY heavy on it and bend the bristles so they warp after a few days or so. That will make the bot work better. (you can also try heat (iron), but BE CAREFUL)

cut the brush thing in half and stick the motor and the battery to one half (throw the rest away) it will a lot faster!!!

you can get a store bought one for 5 bucks, incased in rubber and plastic, at radioshack...much smaller, video of one being attacked by my dog in my house, no damage done to it at all after repeated claws and bites...lol
