Best sub £500 guitar of alltime. Nothing better out there for its price.

Vintage Blonde has Alnico 3; Butterscotch Blonde has Alnico 5, as does the Custom and Thinline. I've had both the 50s VB, BSB and the 50s Strat. Original one I had was the VB and it was just over 7 lbs. I sold in lust for another guitar. I wish I still had it because it was so light. I now have the BSB and it is 8.5 lbs. The 50s strat was very light as well but it too was sold. I'll probably buy it again.

Were the necks the same thickness on the cv 50s and custom?
@Edward13129 ай бұрын
Yes but the guitars featured were all models that were made over 10 years ago, so I cant vouch to whether modern CV models are the same.
@stevefitz25222 жыл бұрын
I've got the butterscotch blonde and the custom, both sound very different but great. Highly recommend the CV series at least up till 2017, that's when my most recent CV was made and it's my fave of the bunch. If I ever come across the vintage blonde for a good price I'm pulling the trigger.
@Edward13122 жыл бұрын
My vintage blonde was a very early model made in 2008 (first year of production) that I paid £180 for back in 2014 finish had a greenish tint to it. Traded the lot for a Mexican Baja Tele back in 2019. The Baja tele is a much better tele than any of these to be honest.

My hardware on the butterscotch started to tarnish badly....even on the inside...after a couple of months...any problems? Very disappointing as it sounds great.
@Edward13127 жыл бұрын
Yes, the hardware on all of mine have some tarnish but it doesn't really bother me. Its probably because they use a cheap pot metal but this is to be expected when you consider how much cheaper they are compared with Mexican let alone US made Fender equivalents.

YES, THEY`RE VERY GOOD, PARTICULARLY THE BUILD ( PICKUPS PRETTY GOOD ) BACK IN THE DAY I USED TO PLAY A BORROWED REALLY REALLY LIGHT WHITE PINE ORIGINAL 50`S OR EARLY 60`S TELECASTER WHEN IT WAS JUST CALLED A TELECASTER. THAT GUITAR WAS JUST ALIVE. YOU IMMEDIATELY BECAME TWICE THE PLAYER BECAUSE OF THE FANTASTIC PICKUPS. THE NECK WAS A DREAM TOO. JUST SAYIN.

If you are in the UK keep an eye out on Gumtree as there are always loads of good deals and if you like haggling its perfect.

and you need 3 of the same guitar because..........
@Edward13127 жыл бұрын
They are cheap so I can afford more than one. They have different pickups so sound slightly different and they look different because of the different finishes. There is a difference in the weight, the Butterscotch is significantly heavier. Finally, the 3 tone sunburst is made from a different wood, alder instead of pine.

Got my Tele CV 50's butterscotch (lefty) yesterday...new at used price...added comp'd brass saddles and sanded neck....WOW. Compares very favorably with my USA/Japanese Teles. Tuners are WORST I've ever owned (over 30 guitars at all price ranges)...got a set of Fender Vintage on the way. Hype is legit...won't lie.

In Australia any of these guitars will cost you $900 plus - and 2nd hand you will still be paying $700.
@Edward13127 жыл бұрын
That's expensive you can get them secondhand in the UK for £250.
@Edward13127 жыл бұрын
Strange, seems like Australia gets a bad deal (maybe its because you don't have so many dealers) because in the UK CV's are easy to find secondhand at about 40% cheaper than new.
@tdunster20117 жыл бұрын
+Ben Hacket - I'm not in the market for a Classic Vibe Tele - but if I was I'd want to play a few first and select the best one - hence, buying online doesn't work for me. I do have a Sherwood Green CV50's Strat Though . I used to play it at the local shop on my lunch break - until after a few months I decided to adopt it full time for I think about $680 or so. It's nopwhere near the standard of a US or Japanese made Strat - but for the price I can't complain - and not having to worry about it getting banged up or stolen is a big plus as well.
@Edward13127 жыл бұрын
They are of a standard that's good enough to gig and record, the fit and finish is good and the action and intonation is usually fairly good out of the box. That suits me as I like collecting, I can get 3 secondhand CV's for the price of 1 American standard.
@tdunster20117 жыл бұрын
+Tony smith - I have six guitars and play five of them at least every 2nd day. For me that's about my limit as far as what I need goes. The sixth one will be sold off so I'm just left with a Classic Vibe 50's Strat, G&L S-500 USA, John Page AJ, Ibanez RG652 Prestige, and a Maton EMM6 Acoustic. The Gibson Les Paul Standard never gets played because the Ibanez is half the weight and twice as versatile.

No chance now as I swapped them for a Fender Classic Player Mexican Baja Tele. They were great guitars though, Classic Vibes IMHO are some of the best bang for buck out there.
@matsp8886 жыл бұрын
@@Edward1312 Yeah, I'm actually considering a CV Tele '50s in Butterscotch Blonde. Better bass and treble in the Alnico V pickups on this one than in the overwound Alnico III pickups on the Vintage Blonde.
