Hi Nimisha, I'm Working professional thinking of to start prep for Gmat, I have done one diagnostic test from GMAC official I got total of 250 since I have forgotten basics of both math and verbal, is it possible to get 700+ after 3-4 months of preparation, I'll spend 3-4 hrs on week days and 5-6 hrs on weekends this is definitely for sure. And Coming to Verbal Section I'm scared of this I'm getting exhausted seeing the paragraphs, so is classroom coaching or online coaching will help me out with this, can you please advice

Hi Nimisha , Greetings to you . I have concerns wrt the study materials to pick . 1) When we say OG , do we only refer the main book ( the question bank ) or the set of 3 books ( main book + quant + verbal ) ? 2) Is it really necessary for one to refer other resources like Manhattan or Kalpan apart from the OG ?

@jhumka_with_a_laptop2 жыл бұрын
Hi Manvendra, you can write GMAT. In India, you can apply to ISB for the deferred program (YLP). Where you get the admission but join after 2 years of work experience. I am sure there are other colleges in the world which also accept students right after graduation. Do find out about it with a Google search. However, for mba you need a good profile. Also, your academics will play a very crucial role in this

Hi! It was a very nice video. I found it to be very insightful. I am someone who is just beginning to plan for a GMAT, and so clarity is still yet to get better. Also, I have not been in touch with books for almost 10yrs due to work. I like the points you have brought out. But what is your opinion on online classes and classroom studies? Also, how would you suggest I go ahead? My worry is that I have to begin with the concepts as I have not been in touch.
@jhumka_with_a_laptop3 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul... I totally get where you are coming from..for me the duration of non-acad was around 6 years. I'll be very upfront with you. I took classroom studies because I needed to manage time alongwith full time job and family duties. Classroom studies gave me a more focussed approach and most of all it gave me discipline to study everday. Having said that, it will be unfair if you didn't try to study on your own for sometime and test the water. It is quite possible that you have not forgotten what you learnt as a kid during 9-10th. I know people who studied on their own after almost 10 years of gap and got a decent score. More than self study/classroom coaching, the question you should be asking is where do you stand now. Then study for a month, brush up your concepts. And ask the same question again. You will know the challenges, alongwith your strengths. Then the answer will be much clear and more personal. Hope this helps!

@jhumka_with_a_laptop3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Divyanka.. I think if it is possible, get the latest OG. Because every year they make some changes/additions to the book. If you already have one, try to find out through online resources what edits have been made to the newer version. If something's crucial, or otherwise, decide as per that. . Also, do let me know what part of the preparation guide do you think I should elaborate on.

Thank you so much mam! Your video was really helpful! What's your opinion on studying MBA abroad mam? Which option do you think is better ?studying in India or abroad?
@jhumka_with_a_laptop3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kiran... It doesn't matter where you are studying as long as your career goals are aligned with what and where you are studying. Few things to look out while deciding India or abroad is your short term & long term career goal, ROI of the course, current economic and political situation in that country, and needless to say the reputation of the college and the opportunities it provides. If all of it works out better for you in a college abroad, then you should go for it. For someone who wants to be in India in the near term and long term, they must not study abroad unless they have enough budget to sustain that cost difference. In terms of quality of education, there are few basic differences between studying in India and abroad (such as peer relationship, college life experience and networking in general), but otherwise the top colleges in India are providing real good faculties and infrastructure. So there is no dearth of learning opportunities in Indian b-schools. PS: thank you for your kind words. Glad you found the video useful :)

Thank you Shivam. There is no standard response to this question. A lot of my friends at ISB didn't take any coaching whereas I took weekend classes. The best way to figure out for yourself is by starting the preparation. Study for a while and give some mock tests. You can also refer to some online resources for preparation. Do spend on good mock tests though.

@jhumka_with_a_laptop3 жыл бұрын
Hi Anisha... OG is a question bank. The solutions are quite detailed, so be very thorough with it. For theory, I had referred to Manhattan for Quants and Kaplan for Verbal. Can you do a video on where to start from/or which topics to do first for people who have practically no experience. I am sorry if this is a bizarre question.

Hey I am not sure about admissions, but any score above 700 is good..I'd recommend you select your target colleges/course first and then decide the target score. Also, track some alums of those colleges and understand from them what kind of profiles make it there.

Hi Neha.. checkout if you are able to find a supplement on 2021 OG - just look for what changes have been made to 2021 OG compared to 2019 OG. Generally speaking, even 2019 OG should be fine unless official GMAC has made some major changes to it.
