Hey Qazi i want ask you a question: you show always how to color a single clip, and i'm so greatfull for them, but when you work on a project with different scenes, location, and maybe actors how do you approach the project? How do you create a color grade for the entire project? Do you make a color correction for all clip and after you group them for the grade? (obviusly for the scenes that are the same) Or maybe do you create the single look scene by scene? How do you do?

Hey man great tutorial! Never used to push the contrast like you do but im also on custom pp settings on my camera. Obviously you grade with the correct monitor, now that's where I'm falling behind, I can get my grade looking food on my laptop but when I test on my phone it's a completely different grade! Is there a better way of fixing this? I know the obvious answer would be to get a laptop with a good ips screen and all that jazz but will only upgrade in the next few months.

Hello! Love your Chanel ! Great work great content! I’m working in premier pro and just recently bought and start to learn Resolve! Would you mind to answer this question? How properly do round trip from Premier to Resolve for Color Grading and back to premier? For example if my timeline already full of Ae composition and heavy effects? Or it’s better to transfer before applying all the effects? I don’t know if those questions are applicable to what you do and what you know? It’s just feels like you know your things! Awesome tutorial I did a small tutorial for work filming using a Sony action camera (Go-Pro like camera), filming in 720 25p and it was very hard to do anything with it without ruining it. One scene was so over exposed that I just decided to cut it. It was great seeing you working with 8-bit colour, but I'd like to get some ideas on what to do with *really* bad footage. Work really loved the tutorial I made that I got a budget to make more and your tutorials played a big part in that :)

Awesome video! :) Is there a reason why this time you used a layer node and not a parallel? I thought I heard you say before (in a YT vdo or in the masterclass, can't remember) that with 8bit footage it was better to stay away from layers nodes since they can be quite aggressive compared to parallels. You made magic in this video, looks freaking amazing, but yeah I'm curious what made you choose layer vs parallel :) Thanks for always putting fire content like that! 🔥
@theqazman4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the idea is to stay away from it but this is shot professionally and in a controlled environment which is why I use the layer mixer also I did mention that it depends on your skill set if your new avoid using Layer mixers but if you know what you’re doing you can definitely use it to your advantage.

Great content and such a treasure for a new DaVinci user. Quick question: When working with SLog2/3 shot on Sony A7iii, is this approach the best? Or should I use a conversion/input LUT to convert SLog into Rec709 as the last node? I’ve seen both done, but just want to know the best workflow - to be able to see accurate colours and luma balance.

First of all, I would like to especially thank you for all the contribution in valuable knowledge that you give for free, I wish I had the money to be able to take your course, I am from Argentina, Mendoza and due to the currency exchange rate in my country I cannot, but anyway I am very grateful for your contribution to my education, that more than anything. And if you had time and could, I would like to ask you a question: Why do you never use "color space transformation" to start with a REC 709 image, when it is log footage, and then do the color grading, I heard that it is a scientific way of change for the color space and It's not detructive, sorry for my ignorance, I hope it's not a stupid question. Love the tutorials.. but.. everytime I watch ppl do skin tones, they always take a shot where the person stands still and barely moves so tracking is easy. In most shots, the talent turns their heads, moves around, etc.. how do you maintain skin tones in a whole shot without correcting the tracking 9 thousand times?
