Thanks for the ideas. While I probably won't invest in these, I really appreciate the suggestions. I'll keep a closer eye on the stock prices of these, so if the market gets stupid I'll start positions.

I live in the Chicago area and have been eating at Portillo's once or twice a week for 20 years. They are always packed, their drive through is one of the fastest I have ever seen, and the food is way better than other fast for for only a small amount of money more than the competition. Investing is all about knowing a little more or seeing it a little sooner than others. Watching how their restaurants function first hand is a perfect case of knowing a little more and seeing the opportunity a little sooner than others. I recently told my gf, "If we don't invest a little in Portillo's we'd be stupid. We know how great it is before anyone else in the country. It's under the radar for most investors. In 10 or 15 years we'll be sorry if we don't act on it." On days when I skip lunch I take the extra $15 or $20 and buy a share in Portillo's. Chipotle is a great example but Portillo's might even be more successful.

Where are you regarding Peloton though? -- are you still of the perspective that they'll be able to recover? I'm curious to your take. Kind regards, Daniel M.

I still like their position. It'll take a while for the strategy to take hold, but I think it's the right one. I think it's easiest to see their strength against the backdrop of Beachbody, Equinox, LifeTime struggling. Now, is fitness a market that will attract 10 million+ subscribers? We will see.

Yea, I feel you. That's kind of where I am too at the moment as well, like can they do something similar to what Netflix is doing and are they able to grow the renting side of the business. I feel like Barry is doing a decent job of "waiting and seeing" so if the strategies that they're implementing work, than they go ahead with them and he did say that they would be push the gas on the renting part of the business a bit more going forward. However, they still have debt to service, and are trying to manage their product on hand levels so that they don't take on more than they need like after co-vid. So with all that said I feel like they're being more cautious and looking to figure out ways to work towards profitability, especially cause I feel like Barry and others in C-suite have stock based compensation or salary raise that are attached to the business being able to do better and grow going into the years to come. Does that makes sense? let me know if it does :) Also, I feel like as time goes on and they grow more partners, the business will be in a better place, thoughts? - ideas? Look forward to hearing back from you soon! Kind regards, Daniel M. @@asymmetricinvesting

I do think that growing subscription is a bottom that needs to happen though there are different ways to do that and I feel like as a company they just need the time to figure out what the best ways are to do that, and how to optimize those strategies, improve upon them and grow them into the future.@@asymmetricinvesting

how do you "justify" paying these price atm for things like Netflix and Microsoft though, they seem pretty expensive atm, no? Thoughts?@@asymmetricinvesting

Zillow looks like the best bet. Small downside and huge upside. Large network effect. Large Competitive advantage. Best in sector. Price is down because of macro issues. Housing supply is not meeting demand. It will take many years to improve this imbalance. I see this stock as a great long-term investment, perhaps multi-decades.

Yeah, I really like Zillow. A lot to prove and probably a very long time for the best case scenario to play out, but lots to like.

@@asymmetricinvesting yeah, the yeah, fundamentals are quite bad. but that might turn around pretty fast if rate cuts start in mid-2024.

What about Redfin $RDFN? You could make the same arguments and Redfin has a longer runway and slighting different strategy. I think Fool recently recommend. All I know, talking to RE agents is something's got to give, that industry is headed for disruption.@@asymmetricinvesting
