My family makes a corn casserole with a can of cream corn, a can of whole kernel corn, a cup of sour cream, an egg, and a box of Jiffy cornbread mix. It is delicious and we make it during the holidays.

My friends aunt and uncle’s house / church got hit with tornado and neighbors houses that are a total loss . About twenty minutes from us . But everyone is safe . Was up all night in case we had to go to the basement . God is good .

Love your channel!!! A friend of mine made the pineapple casserole with Ritz instead of saltines. Also, you can probably find a corn pudding recipe you'll like because my daughter makes one that's more bready, not so eggy. It's almost like a sweet cornbread filled with corn. Another thing, my mother in law was Welsh, came to the US in 1952, and she made pear salad frequently. I don't know if it's a dish she picked up here or not. Also, some people used to use cottage cheese instead of mayo. The history of food can be very interesting. God bless you and your family.

The pineapple casserole is delicious! I make it every Easter and at Thanksgiving too because it pares well with ham. The corn pudding is on rotation for a family side dish, but I make mine with Jiffy Cornbread Mix and only two small eggs. I've never tried pear salad, but my grandparents enjoyed it quite often.

Hi Moss Family TV 🎉. I grew up eating the pear salad. I do it as I’m even older. But my way is to drain the pears from can. Then cut up my pears as bite size. Into a bowl. Then add mayonnaise and sharp cheddar cheese. Mix up well. Never use the lettuce or cherries. But I love the pears mayo cheese ❤ Love your channel. I’m silentalot of times Thanks for your videos 😊

Try Paula Dean’s Corn Casserole. It’s really good. I’ve had the Pineapple Casserole at church before and it was good. Try cream cheese with pecans mixed in instead of the mayo on the pears. 😊🙏♥️

We have pear salad all the time. However, we mix cream cheese with a little bit of the pear juice and put that in the middle of the pear instead of mayo. Delicious.

So many recipes from 1950s and before, people don't understand today. But look in any old cookbook, like Better Homes and Gardens, and you will find them :) The pinapple recipe you made reminds me of cream cheese and pineapple that comes in a little jar from the store that is delicious on Ritz crackers, and probably tastes very similar. My corn pudding , we use a box of jiffy corn meal mix.. It soaks up some of the egg , and creates more of a true pudding 😊😊

I’ve had the pear one, didn’t care for it. Try omitting some of the yokes in the corn pudding. It’ll taste less eggy. The pineapple one, My sister may like since pineapple is her favorite fruit. Thanks for sharing these. Have a great weekend.

Try pineapple the same way as pears but no cheese and if you make it for Christmas use green and red cherry we like it better with Dukes mayonnaise.

The only one my mom made was the pear salad and she put the pears on a small helping of cottage cheese and added just a tiny spoon of mayo....it's just suppose to add a 'zing' to the flavor.....and the cherry! I was laughing about stuff going down the right pipe 'cause I was thinking about stuff coming up the wrong pipe looking at what was in that pineapple dish....lol...but I too thought the corn pudding would be good. You might try making a corn casserole recipe that uses a can of regular corn, a can of cream style corn, a box of Jiffy corn bread mix and a few other ingredients. It isn't "eggy" at all. It's really good!! It's a staple at our Easter dinners.

Hi Falon, Thank you for making all three sides and sharing the recipes with us. I never had any of these sides and the closest was a jiffy cornbread and corn casserole. I wouldn’t mind tasting all but I don’t know about making an entire recipe knowing my family. Perhaps more corn or less egg mixture would make it less eggy. I have had the corn casserole and I agree it was "eggy ". Never even heard of a pear salad, not sure I would try that. Tonight we had steaks and buttered noodles and corn for dinner 🍽. Our anniversary is tomorrow and we are traveling to one of our favorite places and spend a few days just enjoying everything. We used to make that pear salad often and there are variations also - instead of pear we might use a canned peach slice or two canned pineapple slices linked together. Oh, and sometimes instead of mayo we put a little dollop of cottage cheese. I’m really shocked so many have not heard of this. I guess my age and southern roots are really showing🤭

My husbands Grandmother was from a different part of NC state than I am. Her corn pudding was a little different and cooked in a tall Corelle baking dish. It was sweet and good. Her pear salad was made with dukes mayo and didn’t have a cherry but I would like it with a cherry. I first had pineapple casserole at a church potluck. I love it. So I would have been happy at your house eating steak and your side dishes. Yum

I like something called scalloped corn (NO SUGAR) made with crushed saltine crackers and it looks like corn pudding, but isn't eggy! It's really good to me :) Those other two look bizarre to me LOL. We make pear salad and it’s almost like your recipe except, we switch out the Mayo for a dollop of a sour cream and sugar mixture. (Like maybe 1/3 c sour cream and 1 tablespoon sugar, premixed before going on pears)
