Wow I really learned something with the outside edge tip. I like that one for a teaching tip. I feel like players should be able to get a grip on that one. Tip 3 "hit a volley with your feet" is the one I've always used that seems to get people to understand the proper feel for a volley better than any other tip. You just don't swing, as much as you "move through" a volley, to get it right, and I've always found that when people are told "hit it with your feet" or "hit it by using your body's momentum, not a swing" they get the idea and are able to execute it, even if they've struggled for years with volleys.

Tip #1 should lean the racquet slighly to a backhand volley to better protect yourself in doubles.

Should we do anything different to hit a volley when the opponent hits a hard slice at you? I notice that sliced balls often get volleyed straight down into the net since the ball comes off the strings differently than a flat or topspin ball. Is there a better way to counter the spin of a slice so the volley goes as planned?

I think the second tip in the video is kind of the technique for that. Perhaps even more open but it really takes practice because it’s easy to frame it, especially without the proper footwork
