Amazing! Thank you so much Jim. I really appreciate you using my code for the free shipping. Let me know when you get it. You’ll LOVE it. I have a playlist with drills you can program into the app. Go to the App Store and type in “Proton Control” and grab the app. That’s how you’ll create the drills. Thanks Ryan, I'm glad I watched this video earlier. Yesterday I came across this kind of net player, and I told my partner to do exactly as you instructed. It's really effective 😀

Yes Ryan love this tip, so obvious when you pointed it out! Massive appreciation! I am an aggressive net player so how do we counter this? Thanks man
@2MinuteTennis
@2MinuteTennis 10 ай бұрын
You counter it by telling your partner to get to the net. When you’re up by yourself there’s nothing you can do about this. That’s why one up one back isn’t a good way to play. Thanks for watching!!!

Hi Ryan. Thanks for all your videos. I am a tennis doubles lover. There is 1 thing I have not seen any online coaches talked about and no answer after searching on Google. I hope you can make a video about it. How to know when ball is out when you are at the net and the ball comes to you? So many times I have hit the ball and later my partner told me that ball was out? I saw professional players leave these balls correctly most of the times. Any rule to remember when you are net players like ball should be left if over your head or something like that? Thanks

Great stuff Ryan. ❓What percentage of the time do you think an good net player should win the point with the first time that they touch the ball in a rally? I am in the position of that overly agressive net player often. I try to get everything. What ends up happening is that I go for balls that I should let my partner get or I am out of position for the next shot because I lunged to much to get a volley. I know you say you should try to "end the point" as a net player, and "keep the point going" if you are back, but I wonder if that literally means hold back and let your partner get it IF you cannot be very confident that you can win the point by hitting it at the net.

@@2MinuteTennis Only concern is that the net person now has a forehand overhead, so it's easier for them to put it away if you don't hit the ball high/deep enough. But, yeah, you've basically got 4 possible shots (drive ad, lob ad, drive deuce, lob deuce) and you should experiment to see what works vs. your opponent.

Every strategy has pros and cons. But when people say lobbing over “no one” is somehow riskier than lobbing over “someone”, they’re missing the boat. Lob cross court, go to the service line immediately, and you’ll dominate. You’ll probably win 6/10 points in this situation.

@@2MinuteTennisPracticed it this morning in a fun match. It’s very effective! I didn’t lob very high but just high enough to be unpoachable for the net player.

What if the server, serves & volleys
@2MinuteTennis
@2MinuteTennis 10 ай бұрын
Then you’ve got a real dilemma. That’s why serving and volleying is the best strategy in doubles hand down. Just try to dip it short in front of the server as they approach to force them to volley up.

@@2MinuteTennisso when is the correct time to split step after the lob?
@SDOKELL
@SDOKELL 10 ай бұрын
Nope, a lob goes over someone's head behind them, well place ones feel quite gratifying. Moonballing is what your doing. Moonballing in doubles if not done right can result in a smash that's got a good chance of getting your partner hurt. Since your doing this tactic more often this accident waiting to happen is more likely to happen. I've seen it, wasn't enjoyable and did happen to result in an injury.
