Quality reps are so key to sprinting which is where timing, etc, comes into play big time. It's better to do 3 perfect reps of any drill/weights than 20 mediocre ones. Of course there is a time and place for low intensity/higher volume but even those workouts should still be timed/recorded in some form.

@@TheSprintProject_ if you agree that quality reps are better why did you say in the video that you did a bunch of 400s, a bunch of 200s and a bunch of 100s followed by a bunch of 200s?

@@killiancurran5143 As I said in the video, we wanted to test out our times that day. Partially for the race, partially for fun. There's nothing practical about training for 3 races in 9 days to begin with. I have other educational (research based) sprint videos, this isn't intended to be one of them.

We later found out the track didn’t have proper markings. I’m going to dedicate a video to showing my times and plan to improve.

My body would end up with shin splints and tendonitis after that many reps. Obviously partly because I am 40 years old but I have NEVER coped well with heavy volume. I now do the most minimal sessions possible but every rep is done with high intensity and great execution.

You have to slowly ramp up to high volume over many months(your bones and tendons need that ramp up period to get conditioned)

Train harder than last time. Increase a little bit every time. A year ago i couldnt do half of the workouts im doing now. Yesterday i did 16 x 60 m @95% with 3 mins rest in betweenm last rep was the fastest too. Its crazy how ur body can adjust when given the proper stimulus

@@TheSprintProject_ well now I just feel like a dick. That being said, you're on the right track. May I suggest reading Clyde Hart's training materials. That stuff is the gold standard for 200/400 training.

@@Trackreator I'm pretty sure elite athletes warm up very specifically or for at least 5-10 minutes. I know athletes muscle are different so for him that may be part of his warm up, and I guarantee he was not going 100% or he's probably still in his early twenties or younger
