In this Video I’m going to give you a list of three things you can expect at your first aircraft maintenance job as well as two tips on getting hired. As always, this video is based on my personal experience, as well as the experience of some of my good friends, who work in major airlines if you find this information helpful don’t forget to like comment and subscribe. I absolutely love working in aviation and aircraft maintenance. Being a mechanic has earned me a lot of money, and the freedom to live the life that I want to live. There is no better time than right now to start a career in aviation maintenance.

Bryce is 100% correct with everything he said in this video!!! BTW...in addition to keeping the job after you get hired is to SHOW UP ON TIME TO WORK!!! As a matter of fact show up 10-15 minutes early. Quickest way to get fired, is be late, EVEN ONE MINUTE!!! When I was an avionics lead at the MRO I worked at, I enticed my team members to be the earliest tech to work. I would get there at least a half hour early, look at the workload in the control center and then offer the choice of tasks to the first tech to choose what they wanted to do... The last tech to report to me usually got the crappiest task... It paid to be early on my team!!!

What's up Mr Lynch I personally hope I get hired quick for an AIRLINES because of airline mechanic shortages. Great company like SWA or United or even American. I pray and pray I get that opportunity. If not I start at a regional airlines for couple years then transfer to major airlines. I might even start at Standardaero or Pratt and Whitney in West Palm Beach. But anyway can't wait to begin experience and still putting in applications. Well great video Lynch great advice and be safe out there.

Its worth it trust me...go for it. Am looking for a job now. The school that i went to Aviator College was great. The school part its not hard, but the exam to get the Airframe and Powerplant license is challenging.

@@bassfitness9306 Since i got an 86 on the written, i got about 40 questions on the oral test. I was very surprised to see that only like 10 questions were from jeppesen. I studied both ASA and Jeppessen. Those other 30 questions were neither, ngl i got really lucky i made some lucky guesses and passed. I recommend you call around and try to find that new ACS question database asap. Though you might get lucky and get all jeppessen questions like my friend did. but Good luck man

Man so I really did get the short end of the stick when I started out. Everyone was very rude to me, constant yelling. Expecting me to be a seasoned vet straight out of school, not helpful, and trusting me with stuff that really shouldn't be given to me mechanics. Here hoping I can find some place that will actually care about letting me grow.

I've never once gotten an aircraft class before working on an aircraft. It was usually several months to years after I had been working on that aircraft and that was not only at a regional airline but also a major airline. Not everybody at the places I've worked have been that helpful. Some people are only trying to make a better name for themselves. I know someone that went to work at Southwest and he said they roast you and give you the crap jobs like constantly cleaning up the shop. They try to break you down for at least the first six months.

@@bassfitness9306 it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Most of the oral questions that I got were from the Asa/jeppesen books in the back section where the oral questions are. As for the practicals, as long as you have the procedures out in front of you and follow them for the project you will be fine. You can also fail practicals and still pass if you correctly complete 70% of the practical projects. I would still try to compete all of the projects correctly though if you can.

or work for an airline that has AP Mechanic training program that they would offer you a job
@FlylikeTy_

The sad part about Boeing is that there’s no in depth training on the 737 or any aircraft they have. The “training” you get is just a certification to do various tasks like sealing, doing electrical work, etc. They don’t care if you’re faa certified. But I don’t know anything and I’m just speculating. The benefits are great though.
