While Leo is so young suggest making a chest harness with a line attached to the rear which will be more secure and more comfortable than an ankle or tummy tie. Have fun and keep the videos coming.

@@SailingLuckyfish we are in Australia. Got hit by lightning pre Christmas and have only recently got mobile again. Plan to sail to NZ but waiting for new Caledonia to open borders to sail back that way. All well here. Rachel had a six month break on producing KZbin episodes but is back into. Such alot of time to produce though fun in the making.

I know I am making a second comment , but your are videos are great. I use a old s7 myself and I am playing catch up on your videos, I took time out from social media for almost a year. you sell the wharrem so sell , I looked a a few online here. smaller ,home made , old etc, but for a handy man affordable boats . even your and zyas back story is quite amazing, so much more than meets the eye. then add the boat sell off and split, new people . how great, you 3 are amazing.

@@SailingLuckyfish Thanks Stew, Zaya and Leo My wife Nancy has been known as Lady Luck since she was a little girl (and she is VERY lucky), so when we got together it was a natural for me to be Sir Luck (Kenny). She has always been afraid that I will make good on my goal to retire and be a "boat bum", but she is interested in maybe doing some day sailing now that she has seen the advantages of cats vs monos. If they ever let us out of lockdown, we are going to try to attend a Hui (we live in central Florida, mostly).

Definitely! - drops the temps in the cabins by a few degrees as well as takes the bite out of the heat in the breeze blowing into the pod. just by blowing over those few metres of shaded deck

Have recently started using a mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Powder and Dawn Dish washing Soap for cleaning and stain removal I bet it would work pretty well the next time on mold in the canvas pod cover. (Just DON'T mix Hydrogen Peroxide with Vinegar.)

Yep mentioned in a previous video... (hmm 2 or 3 back?) Basically it was 5(?) years old and the glue (and stitching?) holding some of the seams together started failing. They were unable to get the same model and had to get the one they had now as a replacement.
@SailingLuckyfish4 жыл бұрын
@Black Hat thanks - I would just add that Taka now make them with welded seams. If the factory had reopened after Chinese New Year we would have got one.

Is Ariun not a crew member anymore ?? She was gone from the episode and from the intro. I hope she is still a crew member. I was really curious about how she would take to the sailing lifestyle.
@daveamies50314 жыл бұрын
In the last episode she evacuated because of C-19 before she wouldn't be able to travel, not 100% sure but I think they said she went back to the US, hope she is safe, though with how bad things are, not sure if she would be safer in the US or staying aboard LuckyFish in Guatemala? Seems like Guatemala has things under better control.
@timmcmullen54 жыл бұрын
@@daveamies5031 THANKS !!!! I must have missed that. due to multitasking while watching the last episode.
@SailingLuckyfish4 жыл бұрын
@Dave Amies - yes Ariun caught one of the last flights from Belize back to New York. It was obvious that we were heading into a time of great uncertainty and... very limited travel options. So all our plans were put on ice until this all blows over. Belize has the virus totally under control currently, but Guatemala is experiencing exponential growth in new cases. Still. Take care all, Stew

@@SailingLuckyfish Thanks Stew, my point was more that USA doesn't seem interested in controlling the virus 😟How is Mongolia handling it? I haven't heard anything about them. At least NZ has it under control so you have somewhere to run too if things get worse.

i am thinking of getting a taka cat as dinghy . why did you change
@SailingLuckyfish4 жыл бұрын
its in a recent video. the glue failed (takacat weld their newer models) . we wanted to get a welded one. briefly the virus hit China in Jan and the factory did not reopen. we had to source any replacement from the States.
