Hey Chris, if you would use the Sun Position addon that comes with Blender, you can select the sun lamp in your scene and actually choose to just click on the HDRI to tell Blender where the sun is located in the image, and the lamp will be rotated accordingly.

Nice. I have the lens distortion on very early on. I do then turn it of and finish in after effects but having that on early helps you see what you can get away with detail wise. always seems to help.
