Always so informative. I find you videos very helpful. I have taught myself how to carp fish (KZbin being very helpful 😊) not really having anyone around me who has carp fished previously and even after 10 years of fishing I still find some new information within your videos. Thank you

Whatever people may say about rigs, hook patterns etc, most hook pulls are caused by bad playing techniques. I play my fish in a similar way to Matthew. Something to keep in mind is try not to scare the fish, the harder you pull the harder the fish will pull back. Also try not to let the fish make violent Jerks on the rod. When the fish lunges lower the rod to “take the sting” out of it

Great tips!

So by allowing the fish to take line off the clutch then retrieving line will put extra twist.😮

It might do a little bit, but it's so much easier to use the clutch, I've seen so many fish lost with people grabbing their spool and just using the rod tip.

That's why I backwind, no line twist 👍
