This helped me a ton with my first co-star. Lab Tech on an FBI show, 3 lines to relay information to the principals and that's it. Co-star roles are not the moment to shine, say your lines, 'get in and get out'!

Amy this is Great 👏🏼 Just randomly put this on while setting up for a decent co star spot and boom, heard everything I needed to hear. These reminders are sometimes all you need. Ok off to go book this! Thanks Amy 🙏🏼

Truth.This is 90% of your meat and potato roles. If you're hungry,you have to learn the business this way."Serve the scene", your moment to outshine everyone will come.

It often doesn't apply just to small roles: less is more! That's my view as an actor and as a viewer as well.

Great video. Thanks!! I've booked several roles with your technique, it works. I do come from the theater and it was difficult to do this at first but, once I figured it out, it made a big difference.

I love this. You are enough just as. We are interesting on our own, we are always told make unique choices, but our own background and perspective is unique. Less is more. Need more of this

Haha having helped with casting for a friends' projects, I totally know what you mean by "Just say the words" is all you have to do. Literally say words like humans do every day and you'll nail it. But I totally understand how you can just have the wrong perception of the scene because you really want to do a good job

This is strange only yesterday I did exactly what your saying! But left feeling as if I didn’t do enough however I was a strange calm during the scene. today my agent said I’m not on hold for the role. Perhaps it’s a mix of not being crazy nervous and fear of not doing well.

@10:25. But then again....do you really get callbacks for 1- liners anymore? Post-quarantine, we'll be lucky to get a one liner that isn't booked off a self-tape.

Glad you have this tape up. Great refresher..... and I stand corrected. Apparently they do give callbacks for 1-liners....amid COVID. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Awesome advice and it was right on time. I read more advice from you since you popped up in my feed. I am currently a graduate of Reflect the Dream Acting School and continuing alumni for weekly training of Masterclasses. I always research acting advice from KZbin, online, and Facebook and Instagram. So I will go to your site and sign up. Thanks for your Generosity and support 🙂

What if your audition is a one liner self tape but CD says you're being considered for several roles?
@davidpatrickgreen5319
@davidpatrickgreen5319 4 жыл бұрын
That is something that would rarely happen in the professional world, at least union. It's not something you need to concern yourself with. Just focus on what you are being asked to do and forget everything else that are causing you self-doubt

Oh wow! This is incredible! I've never been told this once in my acting career! Other then you, of course. Looking forward to trying this out! Would it be the same for Australian casting? I know that might sounds silly, but I know some things are different in Australia.

OMG😳. There were two women’s roles, each with about ten lines. The parts “seemed” small, buti I wouldn’t say that’s how I recited the sides I was asked to, after submitting the self-tape. I sounded more like business presentations, but definitely tried to show range. SIGH. I mean, the self tape was definitely calmer. Cheers.

So let me get this straight; don't be big, it's not about you, but sometimes do be big because it is about you and do nothing without being boring and also, don't do what you've studied in acting classes for years. This business sucks.
