took a class and the teacher said when it comes to auditions to try and go all out cause they can tone you down but can't build you up.

i caught my self saying the wrong line while singing for an audition, so i just stopped, and picked back up where i knew what i was doing. i didn't say anything or make a face.

I started following her almost 7/8yrs ago when I thought I wanted to act. My family has been behind the cameras forever and this lady knows what she’s talking about.. i haven’t been in the scene in forever, but if you’re serious about acting, I highly suggest following her.

My 2 cents for anyone reading.. and watching this.. it’s so much about professionalism.. coming prepared, being professional on set, and just being a pleasure to work with will get you far.. sounds like a no brainer, but so many actors are flakey, always have an excuse, and don’t take enough time meeting the everyday people on set, from the PA’s to the Boom operators.. people want to work with someone that shows they reeeeally care.

That's what is happening to me now. My mom and my boyfriend are telling me to do this and to do that and to get a better job and keep going with phlebotomy or my bf would say work at publix etc. They don't seem to be on board with my acting or my acting degree to get my associates degree, my mom is 50 50 on that but that's about it.

I have another question for CDs. Do CDs ever rewatch self-tape auditions out of the ones you've already seen? Do you have a little review session with notes on the audition in the decision making process? That would be a good one to address albeit, I do know the final decision rests with the producer and director.

This is also why it’s important to try and get your self tape in asap!!

Thanks for the insight and candor! It truly helps to know from the actor’s side as well that there’s SO many factors that play into your decisions.
