I think the reason even elite big league hitters look awkward when they try to bunt is that they square around with the bat close to their body, right under their nips, and let the ball travel too deep as they try to bunt from that position. The pitch will handcuff a hitter if the ball gets in too deep and that awkward stab is often the result. This is why they teach to catch a football with your hands out front rather than to try to trap the pass against your body, you lose depth perception those last several inches as the ball gets too close and it can eat you up. The ball might be as much as three feet from a hitter's eyes upon contact on a full swing, yet that same hitter would let that same pitch travel so deep when he tries to bunt that the ball might be less than 12 inches from the hitter's body when he ends up stabbing at it. Wond ends up with his arms extended upon contact in the example because the pitch was low and away, but I think the bunter needs to get the bat out front as much as possible even if the pitch is up and in. Thank you for the video. I will also say that a young player can catch the coach's eye during a tryout if the player can reliably execute a sac bunt. Not that the coach would then keep the player on the team to bunt, but to reliably be able to bunt can help demonstrate to a coach that you have a grasp on the fundamentals and that is one less thing he will have to invest time to teach you.

Coach Seely asked me to sac bunt. I laid it down the third base line, the pitcher slipped and landed on his butt. The next time up, I was getting grilled by the other team. So, instead of sac bunting, I bunted for a hit. They didn't grill me the next time up.

Matthew Teuscher I’m a cards fan, and I don’t get why he doesn’t do it more. He can’t hit... and they shift on him. Of course, he did just hit a walk-off today, and I can’t do shit compared to him. I’ll shut up now...

Hello I was wondering if u knew any ways to fix neck soreness bc I have always dealt with this when pitching due to my windup putting stress on my neck but do u know any way to tame down the soreness so I can continue to play in tournaments after I pitch

Outstanding advice. I cringe every time I see a big leaguer unable to put down a sac bunt because of poor technique. Practice, practice, practice.

Step 1: don’t bunt Step 2: if the coach tells you to bunt hit a home run instead Step 3: bunting doesn’t work and is stupid and bad
