I had a bilateral mastectomy about 9 weeks ago! I couldn’t agree more on exercise. The more you move, the faster you heal and receive more mobility of your arm. Like this said, clear any exercise with your doctor. I have full mobility already. It works!

I’m going to have double mastectomy next Tuesday. How do you take care of yourself after you back home if there not much people around to helps. It’s going to be very rough for people who have no help
@nonyabiness4023 Жыл бұрын
@@mythaichannel9082 Yes. It’s rough. Try to prepare before the surgery. I had none to little help as well. I bought a shower chair and extra pillows before and had my area ready before the surgery. Prep some food, have easy to get off and on pajamas. Rest. When the doctor clears you to, do the exercises. Even when it’s sore. The more you move the faster you heal! Praying it all goes well for you. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

It’s upsetting people don’t think young women with full heads of hair and are attractive are not affected by breast cancer, Karen always has to speak out. I’m 35 currently recovering from double mastectomy, lymph node and skin biopsy so I’m not sure why a negative untrue comment was posted below. It’s great to remember the smaller things, I appreciate so much my s.o. helping with my hair.

Is there a forum that will help us daughters to support and understand what mom will be going through now, during and after she looses one of her breast so that we can support her. She is 89 years old and as active as she can be at this age.

Thinking about getting this surgery. 🤔

You are to start exercising your affected arm day one after surgery. Is that right.
@roselucht45834 ай бұрын
I’m not allowed to use my arms, as it’s three weeks after, so all I do is walking for exercise. I still have drains but will thankfully will have them removed tomorrow. The drains cause tremendous amount of pain not relieved by Extra strength Tylenol and Motrin 800 both. Vicodin only lasted a couple days even though I only took 1/2 tabs. It’s much worse than this video relays.

Move your arm and stretch. Cording is horrible!
@lindadoran60622 жыл бұрын
What is cording? I'm getting a single mastectomy tomorrow. Scared as he'll. Also getting lymph nodes removed and direct implant.
@ing36662 жыл бұрын
@@lindadoran6062 For me , it was cords, looked like cables from my armpit to my wrist, like a suspension bridge, that wouldn’t let me lift my arm above my shoulder. Because of the surgery, I nursed that side (3weeks?) and became an issue. I didn’t know any better and no one told me that may happen. I am not a doctor or a nurse but talk to your surgeon about it or get with a PT shortly after your incision heals. I wish you the best! If you are on here commenting, you are researching! P.s. don’t research too much at one time, it’s overwhelming! One day at a time. ❤️🙏🏻

oh yeah!? comb your hair!? what hair? why don't you use real women who have gone through this, not gorgeous, glamorous and young women with full heads of hair! Do you have any idea how upsetting all of this is!??

I’m currently recovering from double mastectomy, lymph node biopsy and skin biopsy and I’m a real woman with a full head of hair, young only 35 and I am not toting my own horn but I’m not hideous. Your comment is very ignorant

What utter, utter, utter rubbish. Lies, lies, lies, lies, lies, lies Imagine telling women they are somehow 'stronger' after amputation. Every woman I've been in contact with after mastectomy is devastated.

I mean eventually we can learn to love ourselves again. I’m personally going into my mastectomy being the most unattractive I’ve ever been. Gained weight from the chemo and lost all my hair everywhere including eyebrows. I’m 27 and the thought of loosing my breast makes me very very sad but I’m also thankful I’ll be alive.
@karenpearson69912 жыл бұрын
@@K_i_tofficial Don't worry about your external appearance, weight can be lost and hair can be regrown. You are you and always will be. It's who you are that is most valuable. If you have an implant you won't look much different to before. All the best for your operation.

Why devastated?
@glendagrant90422 жыл бұрын
I am definitely not stronger physically or mentally. It is way harder than I imagined. I am 72 so not trying to be pretty. I just want to be ok presentable in public and have some strength again. Manageable pain.

@zoyee ohhhh dear we are in the same boat. I am here in America alone no siblings around for helps and I’m going to have double mastectomy in 4 days. No idea what I’m going to be. Just go one day at a time. I’m grateful that I am able to woken up this morning to spend another day with my family and my kids at this point
