Varying where you grip the driver grip so you can hit high drives to different distances. On a short par 3 over a pond my fairway woods often do NOT get the height to clear the water & then land on the green. Possibly other things to adjust beside lowering the hands on the grip. It could make a different video to the normal ones. Thank you for your help.

I like the more vertical back swing, puts you in a position for a faster and easier down swing.

Thank You as far as a tip from me I recommend a flask of good whisky for 3 reasons 1 you can share it with your friends 2 you can celebrate your good shots (if they happen) 3 it will console you on your bad shots, adjust the size of the flask accordingly

Thanks for the senior tips. Where do you recommend taking the 3 set swings (behind ball, side, over the ball). Swinging above the ball seems to reduce tension in the real swing for me.
@USGOLFTVshow2 жыл бұрын
Good question, we prefer them to be back behind the ball. Once we address or come close to the ball it is time to start focusing on performance and the target. Have you seen our book, The Bad Lie? We cover this and much more vlsgolf.com/

Yes and no. Really depends on your flexibility. Focus more on your eye line and maintaining a consistent view...this will help.

Todd Lanny fm Wyo I loved ur video to hit high draw. I dont undwrstand ur bonus tip where butt end of club on follow thru pointed at a certain point ahead & across of ur teed up ball. Could u further explain that. I cant wait for weather to warm up so I can do these 3 things to hit high draw. Sorry this is so long.
@USGOLFTVshow2 жыл бұрын
Lanny, thanks for the kind words. Basically you want the handle to finish high and for the arms to be rotated over, bottom hand over top hand. This combination will help you create an inside to out path with a square to closed clubface. End result: high draw!

I've tried bringing the lead arm up higher, but I'm coming in steep to the ball hitting a lot of fat shots. Any idea why. Thanks another. Great Channel
@USGOLFTVshow Жыл бұрын
Need to add the hip and body turn to give you the around motion. The combo of these two is the KEY.

Todd, I have been a slicer for 20 years. I subscribed to your vertical line swing program and have done the transition drills but I still slice. Is there one drill that I should focus on to eliminate my slice.

44 currently and my swing speed is just as good as in my 20s … some people think everyone gets to 40 and become immobile … all about how you look after yourself and genetics of course

Hi Todd. I am one of your adepts. The Vertical swing is great. But I do have a question that comes out of swinging the way you instruct. I find that I hit a lot of fat shots, as I come vertically down, instead of sweeping, as I’ve been doing with a more horizontal swing. How do I correct it?
@USGOLFTVshow2 жыл бұрын
David, thanks for the question. Two areas, make sure you are getting a full hip turn in the backswing and your weight forward on the finish. These are the first two areas I look at when addressing fat shots. Do you have my book, The Bad Lie? This is where I cover the entire system www.badliegolfbook.com/

To increase your Flexibility I strongly recommend taking yoga classes. Many golf exercises I have seen are simply take offs or variations of basic yoga stretches. I started taking yoga classes about 15 years ago for the sole purpose of increasing my flexibility for golf. I am 73 and a 90s golfer with drives averaging 210 to 220 yds

I am a 66 yrs. old male. I have widened my stance, flared my feet out, and am learning to take a higher and longer swing using my left ( or forward arm) which is giving me more power and more distance as you described. The problem is I am pull hooking my iron shots and can't seem to control the club face. I can sometimes hit a nice little draw but I don't know where the club face is at impact and sometimes I hit a nice straight shot to the right. HELP!!!

I was refered to look at the vidios about the clubs but they give no instructions. Do you have any videos that acturally shows you how use those clubs to get good shots? If I can't figure it out I will need to send back the clubs. Any help would be appreicated.
