I mean it's ludicrous that a woman (or anyone) should get a job or promotion because they have good looks. But then I think it's equally stupid that anyone should get a job because they are charming or good at brown nosing. But no one criticises the boss who doesn't hire someone because they seem cold or unfriendly. The issue is you can't fix discrimination by trying to turn beauty or sex appeal into a vice. People, men and women, need to be professional enough not to make decisions based on appearances. I'm all in favour of professionalism in the work place especially when it comes to hiring and promotion.

It is bc if they are beautiful they will attract more customers and people like looking at beautiful people
@c0d3w4rri0r
@c0d3w4rri0r Жыл бұрын
@@msunje9862 I guess if you put 'being beautiful' in the job description thats fine. Models already have that in their contracts I expect. But that means you're not just there to serve, you're there to entertain, like a maid in a maid cafe or a singer on a stage. But if you're stacking shelves in a supermarket who are you entertaining?
@TopOfAllWorlds
@TopOfAllWorlds Жыл бұрын
@@msunje9862 that's completely fine in jobs where that is applicable, but doesn't apply in office jobs and such. If part of your job is convincing people, if your looks play a part in that then mlre power too you.

Many men, and I include myself, have never been flatteredo for their looks. So, instead, we devote ourselves to hobbies in order to create meaning in our lives. For some, this can mean climbing mountains. For others, it's building scale models. For Ken-san, it's creating contemporary art on KZbin. Maybe these radical feminists need to find a more creative hobby. Or they can sleep with Meshida-san.

To be serious for a moment: Japanese feminism seems to be at the stage that early feminism was in the US. Since then it has evolved far beyond those early days. There is now "sex positive" feminism and third and fourth wave feminism which are not so reflexively concerned with some of these issues. The narrative moves on. There is still a lot of stuff to work through when it comes to ill treatment of women in the world though to be honest the problems women face in the US are quite different from those Japanese women face. The cultures are very different. I believe Japanese women are in many ways much more powerful and assertive in many contexts than American women often are: something that most Americans don't realize or understand. So feminism in each country has very different nuances.

Activism is a form of rebelling against the system. Of course some activists in japan will dye their hair. In the west, such as america, dying your hair has become more of a fashion trend and isn't much of a statment anymore.

japanese Feminists should not interfere only if they are forced to do it and can criticize if they are not adults, like if japanese girls are adults and they want to do it by themselves and no one force them to do it there is no problem with that it's okay and consenting adults do what you want and do whatever makes you happy and live your life. it depends on the person and their personal choice like my japanese girlfriend wears short pants and skirts the normal one when we go out and the mini one for just sports, swimming or beach and sleeping. what is acceptable about sexual things? is it acceptable to wears just swimsuit and shorts and without being naked, without physical sexual contact and without work as sex workers? or is it acceptable wear just swimsuit and shorts sexual and without physical sexual contact, without being naked and without work as sex workers? or is it acceptable to do just naked and without physical sexual contact and without work as sex workers? or is it acceptable to do just work as sex workers? You have to talk to your family about what is acceptable about doing sexual things and sex work. like in my family if someone is an adult and wants to do that by themselves and no one force them even my dad and my mom cannot do anything about it but if anyone in my family doing or sell naked pictures or work as sex workers will kick out from the family

@bahamu
@bahamu Жыл бұрын
@@bushy9780 I'll take your comment at face value and argue it's still better to remove them despite your suggestion. If you have to weigh the two options, removing them is still far superior because: 1. Just because you can ignore it, doesn't mean everyone else can. A lot of people instinctually start reading without even thinking about it. Whatever percentage of people that is, is going to have the punchline ruined for them. If you remove them, then no one has the punchline ruined. If you're being rational, you'd have to agree removing them is the better option. 2. It's more work to put the subtitles in manually like that and you can't unbake the cake. You can't toggle them at all, takes more time to put in, and correcting a mistake is impossible. They clearly already have the script prepared, just copy past it into the the format KZbin is already expecting. 3. Having subtitles properly input into youtube's CC system is better for the "algorithm" as the content is now searchable and it can better be categorized and recommended to others. 4. Translations to non-English languages will be more accurate. With a known script googles translations to other languages will be more accurate and this is also better for reach. I'm sure I could come up with more reasons if I cared to. At the end of the day if these guys want to deliver comedy in English, they shouldn't be ruining their own punchlines. Jokes fall flat when the audience can finish them in their head before the comedian can say them. I'm sure that much is detailed in one of the four English joke writing books on display in every episode. Their pronunciation is good enough and they don't need subtitles as a crutch.
