Any knot that requires doubling the leader back on itself is going to create a bulky connection that will catch on your guides and ultimately reduce the knot's strength. Also, they don't work well with any leader material higher than about 20 lb test, because it's is just too difficult to get heavier mono or flourocarbon to coil up neatly like shown in these videos, because of the large difference in diameter and stiffness between the braid and the leader. If you want the strongest / thinnest connection between braid and leader, use one of the knots that creates a weave of braid around the leader, rather than something that doubles the leader over (FG, PR, SC, etc). Anything else might be easier to tie, but it will be much more likely to fail. If you're targeting crappie or smallmouth, no big deal, but if you're targeting bigger, saltwater gamefish, take the time to learn how to tie one of the weave knots.

LoL I still use FG knot and I'm a Crappie fisherman, it's just such a versatile knot that works great in Freshwater too, plus if a big Flathead hits my jig I won't have to worry about how strong my connection is.

I have been using the FG for years and never had a break at the joint. Couple of times I hit a really bad snag and had to pull the line free. Both times the leader broke at the swivel never at the FG joint. The FG is also the best for casting when I use the wind in leader. (Leader joint Upton the spool).

i had a hard time learning the blood knot and these 3rd method helps me. i usually use 0.6-0.8PE with #2-3.5Carbon , alberto knot and these easy version of blood knot are alwayz the second option of FG which i usually tie it at home first.

So I see three problems: 1. nothing can have 200% of anything. It might be 100% but thats also not true. 2. This knot has a loop. We all know that braided line cuts loops. 3. Cause the Knot is made in opposite direction as a FG knot the cut end shows in throwing direction, so the knot is not moving easily through the rings. So the fluo carbon can't be very long. 0/10 won't use over FG.

When you are tightening up the knot there is a risk to break it or damage the line. If it is not tight enough, when jigging or twitching, dynamic jerking pulls out the fluoro line out... That's why I am highly recommending to finish all of these knots with some safety ending. Half hitch etc.

Ive done this knot also and it failed 4 times out of 5 ! Jve done a version of the Alberto when you fold over the mono put a over hand knot in the center of fold over . It locks the knot so braid cant pull off the mono

The strongest knot is the pr knot, tied with bobbin ending with a risutto. The problem with the first knot is the knot by the leader which will catch in the guides it's a 50% knot. There's no 200% knot.

The "200%" is purely clickbait shit don't exist but I would say there's some knots that can achieve 120-130% strength because most lines advertise the breaking strength a little lower than the actual breaking strength, a good mono line can have sometimes 150% of the strength advertised I really like the Trilene XL smooth casting it's a great line with thinner than average diameter it's 6lb is as thin as most 4lb line.
