What would be the best way to do this but for an image that has multiple colours on top of each other? (Like a base colour and then shadows and highlights) sorry I am not very knowledgable so am trying to learn, would it be easier to just trace it all separate with different colours on layers? i was trying to do it on a logo but the logo had different colors that cannot be selected by image trace. so i had to import it to lightroom and black n white the whole thing. and imported to ai , worked perfectly xD

But you cant do this with all images like images having too much detail like hairs, fur,etc or images having too low quality. We can only trace images having clear shapes...guys im telling you with my 4 yrs of experience that these shortcuts will make you handicap in designing..this can help little, but never depend too much on these shortcuts...try to master pen tool and brushes.

Nice tutorial with the various ways to convert Jpegs to vector, but the third one ends up with a pretty wonky looking logo. The edges are wobbly and are not as faithful to the way the BK mark should be; plus the 'R' you placed to replace the ® mark is not done accurately. It looks wimpy and small within the circle. ;). The first one is the best. Thanks!

I had to convert our logo from a JPG to Vector because we needed it to be printed on clothing. However, I did exactly what you did with the R in the Burger King logo, because the original was smudged, but the company printing it returned and said the R had disappeared. Did I do something wrong? The rest of the logo looks great!

Hey man i wanna ask something, there is a vector in my AI, then i pressed ctrl+y to make it's outline and now i want to export the outline only, but i when i export that vector, whole logo get exported, i want only the outline model of the vector as jpg, how to do that?

you can not export outline logo. There are a way for that, firstly you can make stock your whole logo than your can export it. hope you will get same logo as outline. Thanks.

@@infographicstudio760 hey ,i got a way by mistake, but it's working, i tried Pathfinder, there is an outline tool in that and when i apply it, it really makes the outline vector which can be exported. But the problem is, when i exported that, then the outline is really too think, so I can't see this from a jpg white background, but still it's ok, we can see it but it's thin. Is there any way to make that (outline) somewhat dark?

Converting to vector this method can work great, but with designs that are not as clean, may produce bad results.
