3 ways to decorate your PLAZA in Disney Dreamlight Valley!

It is time to decorate! One of the great things about disney dreamlight valley is the ability to decorate the whole of your valley! One of the first areas you unlock is your plaza area so what better place to start! In this video I will show you 3 different designs to help get you inspired!
What is Disney Dreamlight valley?
This is a brand-new game that is still in early release and available on multiple platforms including the switch! The game is very similar to other cosy games such as Animal Crossing New Horizons and Stardew Valley. There are plenty of things to do and some great quest lines with your favourite disney characters!

I’m having such a hard time decorating in this game so far and I can’t tell if it’s just the lack of items that I currently have access to, or if it’s just that I haven’t had enough time in the game to figure out what I want or like yet? Then it worries me thinking about how in the future we will have more characters which means more houses so I will have to undo whatever decorating I do anyway 😅

I’m playing on my switch and having such a hard time decorating, it’s so fidgety and hard to get things exactly where I want them. I almost am not very creative but this definitely helps!!

i built a community pool, a community garden, a stall market with tables and a community library in the plaza and have woody's house as the centerpiece! its so cute

Beautiful designs thank you. I do not understand the build item limit, nit sure what counts. Here is a tip for you good people, you only need to craft one if an item. Any item you want more of, dont put it down, keep it then go to Scrooge McDuck and buy more of that item. So for example i make 1 round n 1 rectangular flower bed, go to Scrooge and buy 8 of each, them make 1 if each type of flower bed, then whenever i want more of a certsin type i just pick it up n ask Scrooge for more. Saves you a lot of materials.

Just an fyi if you put the trellis and trellis arches in your furniture inventory you can buy them from scrooge so you don't have to use up any materials. I found this one out when I needed more of them.

You are right but I would rather buy stuff from him that I can't craft as I am finding that I am hitting the 25 daily max frequently... eeek!

I try to move things as little as possible when placing things around the map. I've seen many tubers have desolate fields removing everything just for giant farms and they look horrible. Now when we get a giant handful if more characters I'll have to rearrange trees but for now I like the natural look of it. I will however admit to placing all the forageable bushes n trees together in each area.

I'm debating on this right now... At first, I wanted to only renovate and keep things as original as possible, however I'm finding it kind of takes the fun out of it after you've been playing for a while. I have a mental block on moving shiiiiii around because of what you said, but then I see people's build videos and I personally LOVE building... so I'm conflicted, I'm like......... Should I move my stuff around and make the world my own, or keep it the way it is for the most part?? Cos after a while the feckin trees and rocks and stuff they put get in your way 😂 And sometimes in renovating it's good to start fresh!! So yes this is a ramble but somebody might relate so putting this here anyways LOL.

I wish that was my problem! My problem is my plaza currently is being overrun by pumpkins! So I can’t fully decorate my plaza plus scar whenever I try to garden he always lays down or walks over where I wanna garden/plant. I swear he follows me around!

If you are having trouble moving things or it’s lagging a lot it’s because the game isn’t finished it came out early so you could try it out and so the people who made it could know if they should add more things or leave it or add new places and things

I don´t really like to decorate in this game. The areas are so "fixed" so even if I can move everything it doesn´t feel like anything has changed. I like the game, but for decorating I still prefer acnh or Dinkum.

I agree. I have a hard time moving stuff around on switch. Because you can’t zoom out and see larger areas. ☹️

@@CozyCookier You actually can zoom out, if I remember it correctly you need to hold R and use the left controller. It should be displayed. But placing items is too fast, very hard to be precise. Zooming and moving the camera around on the other hand is too slow...

Unpopular opinion here... but I actually like decorating in this game so far! For an early access it's very cool how we can move almost everything at no cost. You said it took you forever to craft the trellis, but you can craft 1 and then go to scrooge's shop and it will be on the furniture list to buy from him. He has a daily limit on how many you can buy but its still way faster than crafting each one.

ive encountered the same issue with being unable to take things off the stall, and ive also found it when i placed a chess board on a table and now cant take it off the table.. i hope they are able to tweak the system to pick up furniture cause im now stuck with this giant table with a single item on it that i cant remove :')

40 hours in, almost maxed all charcters, still not decorated. I cant pull myself away from optimizing for profit until I have infinite money and basically have done the entire game and only decorating is left, its a shame :(

I wish I could do this on switch. Cloud save doesn’t work. Events have never worked. I’ll spend so much time playing for it all to delete. It’s hateful. I wish people never posted about the update fixing everything because it fixes literally nothing and now I feel like Disney has enough positive feedback to give up on making it playable for the people who paid on switch. It sucks.

You place them down and then there are little arrows to expand them. To expand your house you must first use the sign outside and then there will be a lift just inside the front door where you can expand rooms and add floors.
