And keep hydrated internally too! Your skin is your body's biggest organ and you can bet your ass that it's not gonna be in it's best shape when you're dehydrated. It's gonna be more irritable and it can't handle much damage.

This video is so important it’s so weird you just did this video as I was tattooed yesterday and I was talking with my artist about this topic as his partner had a client who had a heavy tan and she was explaining this to him. He was so 🤬 as she asked him to cover up and moisturizer before the actual appointment. I am so happy I am not a sun baby and I always moisturize so my tattoo even after 8 years look great.

James there's a related subject I'd really appreciate your advice on if you can fit it in a video. Have you ever worked with an area of skin that has mild acne, and if so what's the best way to manage that? I'm wanting to get a large back piece done, but I'm prone to some backne. I'm concerned both about whether this raises infection risk, and also whether it will make it harder for my artist to work on and get a good result. Thanks a lot for your clear and informative videos, I've been really enjoying them.
@CL-fs3kt4 жыл бұрын
Frank Little Hello, how severe is the acne? I would say if you have SMALL blackheads/whiteheads (which are NOT inflamed like papules, pustules, cysts), your risk of infection is pretty low so long as you are practicing proper hygiene and aftercare you should be okay. From what I’ve seen, they prefer that you clear it up before you come in as much as possible. I don’t think, as far as texture goes, that acne affects greatly the quality of the tattoo but they don’t want to tattoo over active lesions. Btw if it does interfere with your tattoo, consult with your doctor. Most likely they can prescribe you some sort of benzoyl peroxide wash that will help you clear it up. Trust me this is more common thank you may think!!

Really helpful info 👍🏻❤✍🏼...I am very lucky in terms of tattooable skin ..lol My tattooist loved my skin,he says it is the perfect color & Smooth,supple..heals fast too. My ex was getting his elbow tattooed and he had rough thick skin "never prepped it before getting tattooed"😒This video would of been so useful for him...he was getting a big black & red star there...so many times the ink didn't take and the tattooist was really sinking it in . A few months later I was getting my elbow tattooed "all black ,for a cave" It went in pretty easy and even healed up well.15 years later,now my elbows get really dry and rough.. I wouldn't think of getting them tattooed without moisturizing and using a loofah at least a month before tattooing.✌🏻

I jus wanna share with everyone a great routine to prep for your next tattoo ... the amop'e pedicure pedicure foot shaver it looks like an automatic shaver but it's for getting dead skin off ur feet. Step1. Hot shower step with a creamy African black soap and or she butter body wash with exfoliating body gloves pausing extra attention to the anticipated area for tattoo. Step 2.after fully drying and air drying do NOT apply lotion after shower the area completely use the Amop'e pedicure tool to get rid of all the dead skin that has built up (common sense) but be very carful around areas with more bone or certain cracks or crevices that jus seem or feel like a bad idea stay away from maybe only use the shower gloves. Step 3 mix coconut oil and jajoba oil and vitamin e into a container and use 3 to 5 times a day Only do steps 1 and 2 about once or twice a week use this process forever if u like but especially for the month prior to a tattoo to see amazing result and will also cut down on the actual pain of your tattoo because the skin will accept the tattoo much gentler than if your skin has a more course exterior layer on it I hope this helps I have seen first am hand the difference it makes and I am a tattoo artist that be lives in sharing as many tips with people and other artists as possible will jus help everyone and make tattoos as a whole better than keeping the best tricks to ur self

James I want to see a video on what type of obligations a tattoo artist has after a deal is struck/agreed on as far as holding up there side of the deal so deposit is paid appointments are kept and artist has started with first needle poke? Should it come out the same?should it be as black as promised? Should it not be hazzy? Should their lines be clean? Spaces be even? No mistakes in the tattoo ECT.... All things leading up to the quality of what was talked about and them not milking the clock for biting off more then they can chew/ or past they're skill level? And what if it's not Turing out how the tattoo should? At what point should you say look it's not Turing out? Should you let the artist keep running with it trying to make it better? And why should the client pay for more if the artist can't deliver what was agreed or promised? Why should a client be at mercy for a artist to run up a clock because they don't have the skill set they say they do? At what point should you back out? Ask for a refund? Let the artist know your not happy? Not have to pay more for no delivery? And shouldn't the artist be confident in the hours quoted? Or price quoted? The client isn't the professional here what steps should they take after the job is started?

Hey James, I think this worked well as the tattoo I just got didn't have much bleeding, and also didn't need a lot of wiping during, so it went smoother than previous sessions. I'm curious if after care is on your list for future videos? I am curious about what you suggest to clients, as well as what you do when the session is finished and you send them out the door. Each tattoo I've gotten have each had a different after care regiment, and I have found that the most recent one seems to be my favorite. Not only because it is simply the easiest after care I've had, but it also seems to have had the best affect on the tattoo as far as longevity. I'm sure all of the advances in the industry have helped the process each step of the way, but my current care has yielded the best results so far.

other than moisturizing and putting lots of sun block there's not much you can do. you have to wait at least a week after getting tattooed to swim. sometimes up to a month or at least until every scab has fallen off with no broken skin underneath. sunbathing with a new tattoo is also a bad idea. with regards to that, you might wanna keep it covered with a breathable garment until it's over a month old

Question please mr withee..... You may have covered this question and i apologise in advance if u have. Tried going thru previous vids to find answer in your past vlogs. Im getting conflicting info re after care products following tattoo.. Question: when you have a tattoo done some artists use a cream or an oil or nothing, either cover with paper towel, plastic wrap or leave uncovered. What actually should be used? Waterbased product or gel? Or cream? A family member had papertowel and plastic wrap on thier new work and they complained of burn discomfort. When they tried to remove the cover patch ...mmm it stuck due to some of the mild bleed. Much appreciated 😆

Hi James, just to add a little to your moisturising concept and not putting cream on the day of the tattoo. You have missed a point, there are people that have dry skin problems and therefore regardless of 'tattoo day' absolutely have to moisturise with whatever product they use to enable them to move around comfortably, I am not talking OAP's, just people of any given age that suffer from severe dry skin and eczema conditions. I feel you missed all the other possibles in this regard because it's not something you understand or have to go through so I felt the need to mention it. Best wishes.
