Unreal experience to film this lesson for you on Steve Gadd's kit. I hope you enjoy the lesson as much as I enjoyed teaching it. Tell me your favorite Mozambique application. For me it's the Funk Variation on the cowbell or on the bell of the Ride.

You are my favourite ArtOfDrumming guy, you sound musical, natural and non-technical 100% of the time, and the descriptions and explanations are really easy to get for everybody. Just a perfect lesson. And yeah - the sound of the kit is unreal. If there is ONE best way of constructing a drumshell, it appears Yamaha have found it back then. Drum manufacturers could have just stopped developing new stuff at that point :D

@@ChrisHoffmannTube I learned the late in the evening groove from watching a vhs gadd video....over and over and over.....that will tell you I'm old....lol. But I was fascinated with the groove obviously. I was a huge Neil Pearl fan and copied all his stuff but in all honesty.....wish I would have spent more time studying gadd and others. Live and learn. Peace. Drum on......

You can. Even if you can't play actual drums you can still play with rhythms. Due to disability issues playing real drums is out of the question. So I use drum machines. It allows me to add drums to my music without having to play real drums. So even I can be a drummer. Even if that involves programming a drum machine or sequencer instead of playing actual drums.

Hey :) The mozambique is definitely not an easy one to start. When it comes to "world grooves" my students and me often start with the Bossa Nova. I feel like this Brazilian Groove is a good introduction to build other grooves upon on. Hope that helps :) ohhh and i can ensure, you don't need to insert a new brain. It's more about knowing how the human brain works and practice accordingly. You got this!

Great job both with tuning, playing, and recording this. Out of curiosity, what pitch do you tune the snare side head to? I hear a C# (277 Hz) on the batter head, and I assume you may tune the snare head to around 390-400 Hz, right? Do you use Diplomat Hazy and the SG signature 10 strand snare wires? Many thanks in advance, Pär
