also helps to throw a cover on the bike, that way a potential theft wouldn’t just spot you’re beautiful ride, they’d have to go and check under the cover and see if it’s worth their while, and if you have an alarm, even having them mess with the cover can set some of those things off, and some of those alarms are insanely loud

Yup, mine has notches on it that you can put a Ulock through the cover and the front tire so then they either have to spend time cutting the lock or the cover, and my disc lock alarm on the rear tire will go crazy as soon as they touch the cover

Little thing in case it does get stolen, hide an rfid tag somewhere on the bike with your info and vin number on it. Anyone with a nfc capable phone can read and write on these. Could help the police confirm it to be yours if you tell them where it is

Good evening ⚠️ I am in the welding metallurgy and I grew up with grinders of all categories and my advice is to buy a disc lock according to the thickness of your disc, which means leaving no gap between the disc and the lock then it is best to close it in one of the deepest holes because with a grinder it is very easy to cut even stainless steel unless there is no space for the grinder disc to go between the two it will make the cut a bit difficult which means a few more minutes

@@allgasnobrakes919 no point in putting it on the front because front already has steering lock. Putting a skateboard underneath the front tire negates both front disc and steering lock. So locking the rear disc makes much more sense, in combination with the steering lock.

yep, too bad these methods actually work to the point they just start trashing your bike lol, parked at work and someone couldnt take it so they pushed it to the ground and tried messing with the gear lever ended up with a broken clutch lever, trashed fairing, dented gas tank, and pretty sure a damaged clutch somehow

I have and use an alarm system, front fork lock on angle, rotor lock and gps locator. Also conceal carry a knife, pistol, tazor and bear mace. My bike is never far away. Lol. Good luck.

On a sport bike always put the disc lock on the front they bear the most weight of the bike not just simply lifting the front end you can lift the back and easier than you can lift the front end

Exactly why rear disc lock is better. Because it wont roll if you put the rear in first. If you put the lock on the front then the rear wheel can roll it in the van or whatever easier.

Motorcycle ankor points for home, they bolt into the driveway or wall and you use a chain to bolt it to the ground, works very well, get a good chain and it may take 20 mins to take with power tools (noisy) and 2+hrs without, so very unlikely you'll not hear it, or they'll give up, and a cover ontop of that will deter more people from trying

You can always turn your front wheel to the left and then turning your key counter clockwise to lock your front wheel. Most bikes have that included for an option.

Pad lock the discs and lock the bars. A 20 ft log chain wrapped through the wheels around the bars and around a pole with 3 locks on it works as well.
