Hi Tracy, I hope you are having a great week so far. I participated in your Goal Setting Quarter 1 Workshop and was wondering whether you could help me with something. I obviously see you are very focused on building strength and muscle in your workouts and wondered how you managed to lower your weight window at the beginning of the year whilst being so focused on continuing to build more muscle? I was wondering whether you rely on the scale and reading the body fat percentage to make sure you are gaining muscle and not just fat. I sometimes find the number on the scale throws me from how I think I actually look and feel. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! From a loyal and longtime follower, Hannah

PS. I didn't know whether you would ever be interested in doing a video on how to navigate the jump from having one child to two/ more! Now that you are looking after multiple grandchildren at a time I would love any words of wisdom as I have implemented so many of your tips in raising my daughter and we hope to grow our family this year.

Hello Hannah! I'm delighted to hear you took the Goal Setting Workshop. I hope you found value in it. It is true in Quarter 4 I managed a lower weight window, as I often do going into the holiday season accompanied with plenty of indulging. Celebrate that win! In Quarter 1 of this year, my physique goals changed to prepare for a fitness photo shoot scheduled for this June. Since it takes months to prepare my physique for that shoot, I incorporated building muscle, which I have been successful at. My workouts are the same. My diet determines muscle building. Building muscle means weight gain initially before the lean-out phase, which will occur in the final six weeks. I am a data nerd. I use the scale as nothing more than a tracking tool. I'm sure this makes little sense unless you're into fitness and physique training. While my body fat percentage is low, my weight increases as I increase muscle. My pants are just now starting to fit better. It's a process and one I am very familiar with. I hope this gives you a better understanding of how I use the scale. It's data and feedback to help me continue what I am doing or make tweaks.

That's wonderful news that you have implemented the tips and tools of my work. I appreciate you sharing how you have benefited. I released a blog post many years ago (2016) that may be of interest in your decision to grow your family. While I have a lot of best practices to offer for a growing family, I encourage you to start with the Blog Post. My husband and I may be doing a Parenting Workshop in the coming months. Feel free to submit a list of what would be of interest for topics to cover in that workshop. You can submit your list to the customer support email address: help@henselcoachingandconsulting.com In doing so, I would be happy to offer you a coupon code to use for that workshop once it's released for registration. Here is the blog post I mentioned: www.tracyhensel.com/2016/03/02/words-wine-down/ Have a Happy & Blessed Easter!
